Tysun Chandler makes Andres B

look like an offensive juggernaut! Chandler has zero skills, Biedrins has some talent. This is why The Hornets were trying to dump him. If its not an alley oop there is NO OFFENSE through Chandler.

by Dungeness Crab Dribble on Jun 29, 2009 4:42 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

I think they are both offensively challenged, however Chandler does have a little bit of range while Biedrins has none at all.

by RD74 on Jun 29, 2009 6:03 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

I sense a total warrior bias here

Chandler has somewhat of a jumpshot while unfortunately Biedrins doesn’t have one. Otherwise their offense is practically the same. Oh wait no…..Chandler can catch Oops too which I haven’t seen Biedrins do often……my vote is Chandler

by Batmanthesunsfan on Jun 29, 2009 6:16 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

Biedrins has some of the best hands in the league for a big man. He doesn’t catch that many alley oops because we have no one to throw it to him. LOL!

give up, you’re not talking to someone who is just a Warriors fan, you’re talking to a Warriors fan who is a complete homer.

i think most people that follow the NBA know that New Orleans is having financial problems still and are trying to cut costs.

by homer simpson on Jun 29, 2009 11:52 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

warriOs may be a complete homer, but he is right about Biedrins having very good hands

Offense is not something that we need from our C.
If it means Chandler next to Amare, then Chandler doesn’t have to do Jack on the offensive end except to get out of the way (something Shaq never learned to do)

I praise Chandler on the defensive end.

by Chucko667 on Jun 29, 2009 8:27 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

I pick C, Manute Bol.

Seriously though, I would prefer Biedrins over Chandler. Foul prone is slightly better than injury prone imo.

Detras de ti, imbecil.

AB vs Chandler

Chandler is taller, a little less productive with the best young PG in the league:

AB did it last year without a real point guard, on mostly hustle, the Kid has a lot of heart, his footwork is his best asset:

But you put him with Nash and with AB’s speed for a big man Nash could make him look like the second coming:

if this was 2 or three eyears ago i would of said Chandler, but ot now, AB is 22 and still learning the game:

Even if the Suns don’t make the trade the W’s will be happy to have him stay, especialy if they could get KIdd for a few years while Curry develops;

I think with AB the Suns would have a big that runs the floor can push the ball up or dribble himself and loves the pick and roll, but when your best passer is Jackson who loves to shoot how many passes are you going to get>?

by ForestGrump on Jun 29, 2009 6:45 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Keep in mind the Nash-Stoudamire pick ‘n roll is pretty lethal. Defenses have to choose their poison. Assuming Nash stays and Stoudamire goes, a big offensive weapon is gone-that is unless AB can handle that. And he certainly can’t pop a 17 footer like Amare can.

by RD74 on Jun 29, 2009 7:48 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

As I said before

If Amare stays, and we get Chandler, TC will get 15 ppg because Nash will find him. Everyone wants to point out that Paul is the best, and he didn’t get Chandler 15 ppg. However, we would have Amare drawing two defenders, while David West, while good, is no STAT.

TC would be so open, he could write a book and lead cheers.

I think chandler is the better player right now but AB has some potential chandler is who he is.

only to see Dungeness bias make an appearance again! : )

im on the fence

but picked AB cause of his D and the injury factor

Beans is the better player

But i want Chandler!

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

Yeah, it’s kind of like you have two chicks that dig you and one of them is pretty hot, maybe an 8, but she’s flaky and you get the idea that you’re not the only dude in the picture. But then there’s a 5 sopping wet who wants to cook for you and buys you clothes and brings you beer. So you’re stuck because you know what the right choice is, but at the same time, hot chicks are nice.

by RD74 on Jun 29, 2009 8:25 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

hahaha that was hilarious. But im going to have to go Chandler, only because this question doesnt make sense because you dont get Biendris without losing Amare. Honestly I think Kerr is having tunnel vision right now with this rebuilding project. A front court of Chandler, Amare, and Hill/Clark could be buckets :)

KTAR

I texted Ash about this today, he responded with a wow I don’t know what we would do.

I asked him if, " Lets say the Suns don’t trade Amare, but they don’t extend him. In most situations the player would be pissed BUT since it is in a contract year and other teams are watching the potential FA’s Amare wouldn’t be able to slack and pout he would have to come out strong to try and earn that big money from other teams… If the Suns are playing well, lets say top 4, do they risk trading him at the deadline to get value for him and risk missing the playoffs? or keep playing the season out and just lose Amare for nothing, after his good season and have teams shower him with money?

No day but today

by RyanMarcus on Jun 29, 2009 10:35 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Wait till February and trade him when he has value.

We are not going to win the title this year with the team as it stands (Ben Wallace and Fropez at the 5??? how are they going to stop Gasol/Duncan?)So don’t worry about the playoffs, just get value for Amare. In Feb.

by Chucko667 on Jun 29, 2009 10:54 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well im also assuming we would get Chandler if we end up keeping Amare

We would only get chandler if we were thinking about keeping Amare (Chandler is not a rebuilding move). So if they get chandler, just sign Amare’s max extention already.

Biedrins by a mile

AB is only 22 and is signed through the 2013/14 season. He runs very well for someone his size. Biedrins was a monster up until the end of Jan when he got hurt. Check ou his rebounding, blocks, and points up until that point. His averages took a dive with all of the 15 minute games after that. He has developed every year and should thrive in Phoenix’s up tempo offence. His shot selection is also very good (note the 60+ shooting percentage).

Chandler is injury prone and has not thrived despite having the #1 PG on his team. Remember, he flunked a physical just last year which ended up blocking a trade. Do we really want a guy whom another team seems more than willing to let go? Plus Biedrins was putting up far better numbers when they were both healthy and GS doesn’t even have a real PG.

by phosrik on Jun 30, 2009 12:38 AM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Chandler

But mostly because we don’t have to give up Stoudemire to get him. And begruding props to the GSOMers for gaming our vote. If I didn’t think it was in good fun, I’d be pissed. Hats off, pranksters.

1 playoff in 13 years will do that to you. We have what, 2 or three MISSED playoffs in that time.

biedrins

I’m a warriors fan also and he is way better, younger and improving at a huge rate compared to Chandler. He is going to either be an all-star or defensive player of the year soon

I can't get past the contract issues...

Chandler will be in the 2010 mess. Why bother with him for that?

If we are rebuilding, we need younger cheaper talent. That is Biedrins, who is safely locked up until the end of time.

I’ve moved on. Neither are fit for the Kingdom. The Kingdom of the Suns.

Who are these guys again?

by ZonaFlash on Jun 30, 2009 2:13 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Value for Amare

I keep hearing that the Suns should keep Amare until February so they can get better value. I don’t know how much more value you can get than what the Warriors are offering. Biedrins, Wright and Belinelli certainly is a lot of value. I have a hard time believing Kerr will get more if he holds on to him. Plus by holding on to him it brings in the possibility of an injury.

by JLopez on Jun 30, 2009 2:45 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

He's already been injured, the open question is how is he recovering?

We’ll get better value once teams see he can play at a high level again.

Someone will offer more if they believe Amare can get them over the top. Those are the trades likely to happen at the deadline.

Who are these guys again?

by ZonaFlash on Jun 30, 2009 3:01 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fair enough

However, if he doesn’t play at a high level again then the Suns are basically screwed. They will either get a lot less value than what the Warriors are offering, or they will get nothing when he opts out. Is that a risk your willing to take as a Suns fan?

If they take the Warriors deal as it stands right now. They get a very good center who fits the Suns uptempo style in Biedrins. Plus they get B. Wright who if given a chance can be a productive PF. On top of that they also get M. Belinelli who was playing great basketball until he hurt his ankle last year. MB has a great J and has great passing abilities something the Suns can use. To me the Suns are foolish to not take this trade.

by JLopez on Jun 30, 2009 3:28 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

If by "get nothing,"

you mean “get $17 million in cap space to use on one of the 3,462 free agents that offseason,” then you’re right. Nothing.

by ZonaFlash on Jun 30, 2009 4:25 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

everybody does. i mean NYK fans think they have the pieces to acquire Rubio. Portland fans think they have a team full of future all-stars. it’s just the nature of things. used to think it was just a bunch of teenagers, but i’ve seen posts from these ppl i thought were kids who didn’t know better saying they’ve been following the team since the 70s or naming geezer players like Derrick Coleman as guys they grew up watching.

by homer simpson on Jun 30, 2009 6:53 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

do you really expect us to believe the same thing wouldn’t be happening around here if Curry had somehow fallen all the way to the Suns? c’mon…. Have the years of playoff teams really made you forget just how exciting a mid to high lottery pick can be? Plus we’re just coming off of Randolph’s impressive second half, I think we deserve a break from the criticism.

Thing A

by sam23 on Jun 30, 2009 7:45 PM MDT up reply actions   0 recs

Infatuated yes maybe a little

but im sure many Suns fan would take this deal right now. As far as Chandler goes, he’s a good defensive player but does he do anything for your future. It’s not like the Suns are going to be Championship contenders next year. Biedrins is locked up in a favorable contract.

On a side note you guys have a great site going on here. Lots of passionate fans, thanks for allowing me to comment here.

after you adjust for pace, they’re statistically similar in terms of %‘s. the difference is one is better equipped to guard the best big man. Biedrins cannot guard the Yaos, Boozers, Gasols, etc., and Amare doesn’t want to. Al Harrington used to guard these guys for the Warriors until last season when it was Turiaf.

Biedrins is a special player. far better then chandler. he can creat his own shot, he actually take people off the dribble cause he is quicker then most other centers, he is a better rebounder then chandler and chandler can barely score even with cp3…… him, wright, and belinelli for amare ?! well throw in claxton AND law…lol

I mean at this point we are keeping Amare, Nelson might get in trouble for being the blockade on this trade. We offered you a stud, for some nice pieces so we can rebuild.

Nelson must have been drunk, because I dont know how you pass this line up

Randolph
Amare….Everyone in this line up can ball.

someone might have said this but i wasnt trying to read every comment but i voted for chandler because lets not forget we can get him without giving up amare … I LOVE THAT IDEA anything about building around amare atleast lets me dream of atleast a worth watching team.. i want to see the suns show golden state up for there bullshit even though im so so glad we didnt give amare up people need to open there eyes theres not to many or has there been many stars like him lets enjoy him into retirement and hope he brings more than 1 title to phoenix you cant tell me we are closer to that without him!!! i mean nash amare j rich clark barbosa chandler and company and maybe one of those low rent mid super star who is stuck in a bad free agency in a bad economy atleast i know what i can expect from my team in the playoffs .. even if then the suns coulda snuck into the 8th even 7th if we didnt rest shaq on some back to backs and picked up some of the easier wins we could always count on we might have made a mini run but i guess well never know but keeping amare and adding chandler makes it feel alot better than a straight up rebuilding team were i have to start scouting ncaa players before the march madness..give up amare for biedrins hahahahhahhhahaha even stephen curry dont make it better please think of a duke player named reddick great shooter but cant get of the bench is that what we should be hoping and praying for thats the real deal #2

And Thats Real!!

We need a center

And you’re right. We can basically get Chandler without giving up anything. I hope we can pull it off. We needs. They are the same age (Tyson and Amare) and still young, at only 27. We could very well build around, not just Amare, but BOTH Amare and Chandler, and we could have a pretty good team for the next 5 years, then possibly keep the good thing going with a Clark/Lopez tandum.

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

we could

I have an idea. Lets tell the Warriors we will trade Amare for Biedrins straight up — Then – and this is original – we can pull out of the deal at the last second and tell Amare that he can unpack his bags, buy a house and that he isn’t going anywhere. Then we pick up Chandler.
