Amare, Amare, Amare…..You almost have to love this guy….“I want a max contract…Just not from the Warriors…” He doesn’t get it it does he?

by RD74 on Jul 1, 2009 7:32 AM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Well...

I mean, Kobe pulled that same “I don’t want to be traded if they give up that much” routine, and as much as we hate the Lakers, they got a chip a couple years later. So maaaaaaybe…

Nah, never mind.

The Suns still have a long way to go if the goal is to get under the luxury tax

Old Article on the Luxury Tax Catastrophe

Probably would take a few more trades to get under 70 million. I feel sorry for the Washington Wizards. 75 million and only 19 wins!

Who are these guys again?

by ZonaFlash on Jul 1, 2009 11:27 AM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Should I be confused looking at that? I feel like it’s something out of “Office Space” and should have a TPS cover sheet attached.

I’m kind of sick of hearing about the luxury tax. It could be my ignorance, but I feel like the Suns are the only team that are complaining about it (Sarver). If you have competent management and a little luck, you put together a team that wins which draws the fans. The fans come and buy stuff and you make money. You pay the tax but the winning makes it worth it. Maybe I’m naiive.

+1

Pay the luxury tax and win. That’s what it’s about. If you’re in it to make money get out and do something else. I can’t stand owners that sacrifice championships for dollars. Not only do they not understand the sport or its fans, but they don’t understand business either. Winning a championship will make a lot more money than whatever you’re paying for that measly tax.

Lack of Strategy will hurt the cause

Good luck attracting free agents with the Amare thing swirling around out there. Why would anyone of any substance want to come here when they dont’ know what kind of team we’ll have?

Good read from Bordow

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

rudy! rudy!

so, rudy fernandez is upset with the blazers. any chance we’d be able to swing him over, give him a decent extension, and make him feel happy? not quite sure what we’d have to give up/trade/whatever, but i like rudy a lot, and i’d love to see him don a suns uniform.

Only cause Portland is pursuing Hedo. But anyways I agree

Best Case Scenarior: Portland buys him out and we offer what ever the euroleague teams are which is over/under/at the MLE I believe. Which isn’t too bad…I think the highest offer out of the Euro was 4 mil? Whether or not he would come to us I don’t know.

Worst Case: He goes to Euroleague.

Isn’t the worst case that he stays in the league and beats the hell out of us everytime we play whichever team he’s on, rubbing our draft mistake in our faces?

That already seems to be the case though….well kinda.

1st Time Posting

But I’ve been reading this blog for a while now. Anyway, hi. I just thought it might be time for me to share a thought because I have one that might cheer everyone up. A little bit anyway. Memphis GM Chris Wallace just traded an expiring 8mill Q-Rich contract for Zach Randolph’s gnarly contract at 16, 17mill/yr. He just added Zach Randolph, the chemistry killer, to an extremely young impressionable squad that already didn’t play any defense. And this is less than 2 years after he traded Pau Gasol for Kwame. My point is: no matter how much Kerr (& Sarver) have driven us Suns fans crazy the last few years… at least our GM isn’t Chris Wallace. We have that.

there are a lot of lousy GMs.... Chris Mullin comes to my mind these days. =D

great first post! Certainly, something about that trade doesn’t add up for the Grizzlies.

Who are these guys again?

Holy crap!

Welcome btw but holy crap! What a stupid move by the Grizz…Congrats to the Clips for dumping Zebo and getting a decent player w/ an expiring contract in return

damn it, grizzlies.

you’re starting to make the clippers look like a semi-intelligent franchise.

stop it!

Hey man, welcome

I agree with you and thanks for the perspective. There are a lot of teams around the league that have horrible managment, and let’s face it, ours isn’t that bad. Even when it appears Kerr messes up he still brings in good players, even if they’re not ones we need. Shaq was great here and J-Rich isn’t chopped liver. Kerr could have just as easily traded half our team for much lesser talent.
