Phoenix Suns pursuing free agent Lamar Odom?

The Phoenix Suns according to the LA Times are among the teams pursuing free agent Lamar Odom.

Star-divide

According to the LA times ( http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lakers-kobe-bryant1-2009jul01,0,5024600.story )

The Phoenix Suns are among the teams interested in signing free agent Lamar Odom?

Lamar Odom is apparently in high demand by several teams. He is a versatile power forward that can guard multiple positions and passes and handles the ball extremely well for a forward. Lamar is known for being an inconsistent player but when he shows up, he can be the X factor for a team's chances of winning. He is reportedly interested in about $10 million per year for 3 to 4 years.

This is the first I have heard of this so I don't know if it's true or just another crazy rumor?

The Suns

don’t have the cap space for this move unless he wants to sign for the MLE.

Spurs are over the expected luxury tax, not sure how they would fit Odom into that

Odom’s agent needs to put the bowl down and come up with more credible suitors.

Who are these guys again?

Lamar should look at the Raptors if they miss out on Turkoglu.

LO and Jrich

Both players are neither worth the money nor the time. PHX needs defense to compete and players who are willing to contribute without complaining. AS is as immature due to his lack of attending college and you can see it in how he conducts himself on daily bases. Finally blow up the Suns and let’s start building a future team that will forget the past 40 years and start focusing on the future…Change is inevitable so embrace change or you will become the past.

I would have to boycott the suns for as long as Sarver/Kerr ran the team

that is not even funny, we’d ship the team to San Diego and just go without an NBA team.

Re: Gambo and Ash show

Well if there is any truth to that rumor we can be rest assured that San Diego will be the next permanent site for the suns? Lets check this out.
Training camp is moving, open air play and the homes of both steve and steve are situated in southern Cal. Salary dump, money problems so what does it take for these two to finally get away from the 40 year history of the suns. The answer is a move.

re:

To even think about Suns trading Amare to the Lakers for Lamar Odom, Sasha Vujacic, and Jordan Farmer makes me sick. I would never forgive Sarver and Kerr for this if it happened. We need a young player with talent someone to look towards the future too not Odom.

heads would roll for that s#!!

i like odom.

but with the drafting of earl clark, it seems largely irrelevant to sign a player that people think clark will end up like. especially for a large sum. odom’s a good player (when he feels like it), but i like the idea of having a young, inexpensive clark progress to that point, instead of getting an older, more expensive, semi-inconsistent odom.

Why not sign Marion

look admitting u made a mistake is smart. Resign Shawn Marion u got Jason Richardson as a fourth weapon a couple of good free agent pickups and were good to go.

resigning marion wouldn't be...

the worst decision in the world, but it wouldn’t be the best. unless we’re pretty certain that grant hill won’t be resigning with us. having marion not in the starting lineup would be terrible, having hill on the bench makes him less productive, and having dudley ahead of clark on the depth chart (dudley 3rd, clark 4th) means we don’t develop clark at all. doesn’t seem like a choice situation.
