I am no WNBA expert but this firing struck me as odd as well. Everyone I've talked to say the Monarchs are better then their 3-10 start. This is a team that in the East could be in 2nd place. They play hard. Defend. Rebound. But they lack enough shooters. Blame the coach.

Whereas the Mercury are having dominant moments, the Fever seem to playing consistently good basketball. - This is an interesting question. I don't really think this one example is enough to draw this conclusion but there is no question that the Mercury rely on shooting to win and that's always going to be an up and down proposition.
