Barbosa for Boozer
This actually is a possible trade seeing as how the Jazz want to keep Millsap, and clear up some cap space and this would be a way to contend right away while rebuilding.
In this deal you would simply trade Barbosa, Pavlovic who can then be waived, and Alando Tucker. Here are the numbers:
Barbosa- $6,600,000
Pavlovic- $4,946,250 non- guaranteed salary.
Tucker- 1,071,720
for
Boozer- $12,657,233
This deal would save the Jazz at the very least $3.45M with Pavlovic contract alone and makes the Suns into a title contender i my opinion.

why not just j-rich for boozer?
we can just trade them straight up.

Because
The Jazz need to dump payroll. So they need Pavlovic’s deal. They need to dump payroll cause they’re way over the cap and just matched Milsap’s offer sheet.

Interesting...
This deal makes more sense than alot of the other crazy ones floating around. I do think Boozer playing alongside Amar’e can improve our team quite a bit. However, my only concern is that we are already thin at the gaurd position. I’d rather see what we could do with Wallace/Pavlovic and maybe someone else…Dudley/Tucker?

Like it
I’m in favor of any trade that sends Barbosa away.
Why not Bobby April?

yea, we don't need that 20 points coming off the bench
also I would like to propose that we trade nash for dennis jonhson’s ghost.

hell no
people can we plaese stop taking barbs for granted..he kept our bench effective in every game last yr hes the only one with our current bench that can score and he is playing for almost the mid-level and hes a top bench player in the league

Amen.
While Boozer is a very decent 4, losing Barbosa would not only piss off a lot of fans(like me), but it would also hurt their bench tremendously.
"Fun fact: Larry Hughes, who couldn’t stay healthy if all his human parts were replaced with bionic implants, is out for the next four weeks with a bruised leg. Do you think that Willis Reed ever reads about all these players missing time with bruises and sprained fingers and throws up in his mouth a little?"

Plus, I instinctively dislike anything or anyone from or in Utah.

i just don't like the jazz.
because of their uniforms. since when was the powder blue and purple look at all cool? their old jerseys weren’t that great either, but they were much better than their current ones.

man that would be an crazy starting 5
nash
jrich
grant hill
boozer
stat
I think the trade would be a great basketball move. However I am to attached to Barbosa to watch him go.

Replace Boozer with Shaq
and you also had a very crazy starting 5.
by Gorilla Game on Jul 16, 2009 3:48 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
wow, horrible defense in that lineup (except for maybe grant)
it should produce a ton of fun run-n-gun regular season wins and then a whimper in the playoffs.

Regular Season Wins
I’m not convinced about that part. Though the defense will be bad

As I mentioned earlier
If we can get Boozer without trading Barbosa or Richardson, that would be great!!! Yeah that lineup listed above is mighty impressive. Championship implications all the way.

in this trade we trade 3 shooting guards
and leave JDrunk as our only shooting guard. We probably need a little more depth at the 2 than that. Perhaps Grant could play the 2 and Dragic could play off the ball as the point, but that means Grant will play big minutes.
This trade doesn’t help our team. Right now we have plenty of undersized bigs and enough offense. We need defense, rebounding, and depth.
And plus, I love Barbosa at his price. Would hate to see him in Utah.
by ArizonaCactus on Jul 16, 2009 4:09 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
i love barbosa too.
but, pavlovic isn’t going to be a part of the suns, whether we trade him or not. he’ll either be traded or waived.
and, tucker is technically listed at the SF spot, since he played the low post position a ton in college. maybe that’s the reason his shot looks so flat.
by iamtrevorpaxton on Jul 16, 2009 4:27 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
i still love the kid, though.
and he’s still my favorite young’un on the suns.

guys, come on really
Dragic, Pavlovic,Tucker, and maybe even Amundson need to go. You people are insane to say Barbosa needs to be anywhere else. Lopez, Clark, Dudley, and Frye(though on thin ice for me personally) all need to stay with one of them starting. To me the Suns need to trade for a backup PG and maybe another Center. Right now I see the Suns roster of players that should be here and getting minutes looks like this:
STARTERS
PG-Nash
SG-Richardson
SF-Hill
PF-Stoudemire
C-Lopez
Some may say Lopez is not ready to start. I agree. But he is an athletic 7 footer that seems to work hard. Frye hasnt proven anything to me.
Reserves
PG-
SG-Barbosa
SF-Dudley/Clark
PF-Clark/Amundson
C-Frye
I left the PG spot open because Dragic is obvious not good enough. Barbosa could run the point I suppose but we all know he does not excel there. And that should only happen to open up minutes for Clark. I know that there isnt mass subs like this, but I think you all get the point. I am really optimistic about Clark. I hope he turns out to be good. So I dont see why everyone is so worried about making major moves. This team is still very talented and possibly deeper then it ever was with D’Antoni. We will be back in the playoffs and I think will be a legit dark horse to win it all. Steve Kerr has been an idiot, but only because the moves havent been successful. You can see the idea was sound. He still reminds me of a kid playing a video game but he is what we have.
So lets relax a little and let them play a little. I think either Lopez or Clark will end up being the 5th starter and will do just fine. Lopez I would assume is the favorite right now. And I think he would allow Stat the room to work to make him happy. This team is just fine. Things could be worse. Its not even that bad.

That move puts the Suns
further over the cap. Why would Sarver want to do that? No a particularly good tightwad move.
by BrewDude on Jul 16, 2009 9:52 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
One Way to Grab Boozer
What about Wallace, Sasha, and Tucker to Utah in return for Carlos Boozer? I’d love the potential it could add upfront and – frankly – the Suns wouldn’t really be losing anything. I think it is an excellent deal that makes sense on the other side of the equation.
What does everyone think?
by fedres on Jul 16, 2009 10:41 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
Wallace has already been bought out
So, yeah
by hcblankscreen on Jul 16, 2009 11:53 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
Keep team as is...
We already have more depth than we ever had in the D’Antoni years. I agree with NSU stud on that point. By the way, does NSU stand for Nova? If so, there’s only one true stud on this campus. But since you’re a Suns fan, I’m willing to consider sharing the title with you. Not! LOL.
Anyway, the only other move I would do is sign Courtney Sims. He’s a low risk low cost investment that might suprise. He’s done very well in the D-League, has played with Alando Tucker (another Sun) there, and we could use another big to back-up Lopez/Frye. We don’t really need much more than that. I agree with whomever said we could be the dark horse this year. Run and gun all the way!!!

why do people want boozer
I don’t want boozer. I don’t want two power forwards. I want amar’e stoudemire. I would do that trade for like Okafor but that’s even less likely. I want a center.
