Final roster spot goes to....
So unless some fantastic deal is available, we have 12 of our 13 players on the Suns set for the upcoming season. The question is....who will # 13 be? Will it be someone that doesn't see any game time at all (i.e. our 2nd rounder)? Or might it be someone that could contribute? I know that Ike Diogu is a free agent (I believe he was on the Sacramento Kings this last season). I'm assuming we could sign him for the veteran min. Thoughts?

Why we have Fry and sign Taylor Griffin

Griffin will not be...
contributing this year….even if he gets a roster spot.
Not saying he will,
but really I doubt any ‘13th’ player is going to make a meaningful contribution. Griffin however has some upside, and he could sop up fouls. We should not sign another guard as we already have to many individuals at the 1 and 2 that need more time. Additionally, if anyone who is not explicitly ‘in’ the ten man rotation should get playing time, it should be Earl Clark. What you like from the 13th spot is a player who can provide energy, bang, foul, play garbage time, and hopefully contribute at a later date. In my mind, our current best bet, especially within the organization, is Taylor Griffin. We could sign Jamario Moon, but he would cost more money then it would behoove us to shell out. We could sign Ramon Sessions, but either Nash or Dragic would have to leave, within a a year. We could get a big who we desire to contribute, but that would put our current 1st round draft pick and other young players at a disadvantage for playing time, and hence development. What I am saying, is that we should try to pick someone with upside who does not cost much. There is no need to knock anyone for not contributing, for whatever reason, and there is no need or reason to go out and get a star.

We'd only have 13 if we...
kept Sasha. I’d be surprised if that’s the case. I’m assuming we are going to dump him soon.
I wouldn't be including Griffin....if....
he’s on the team, he won’t be contributing….so why would we keep him?
Leon Powe.
Carl Landry, but better.
Any takers?
When fictionally asked to comment on the state of the Phoenix Suns, GM Steve Kerr said, "Arizona."

courtney sims.
would probably accept the lowest amount possible, as it’s an actual NBA contract, whereas he’s just been playing in the d-league. that, and i’m incredibly intrigued by the guy.
any takers?
Can he rebound and block shots?
He can score, nice but not at all neccessary at the moment. Can he box out and rebound and get some blocks?
