Earl Watson just got dropped...Can we pick him up.
The Thunder has waived point guard Earl Watson. Watson, the 30-year-old backup to Russell Westbrook, averaged 6.6 points and 5.8 assists in 68 games last season. The eight-year veteran grew frustrated with his role last season as a member of the 23-win Thunder, going from opening-night starter to mid-season backup to bench warmer by season’s end. Oklahoman...
I know Dragic is the back up right now, but it would be nice to be a deep at the point guard position for once.
What do you all think........

Would have been a great idea but Pacers got him
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."
Mmmmmm
dead heat between Dragic haters and those who have faith
Ramon Sessions is available too
he would be a much better choice, if he’d consent to being Nash’s backup, with an eye to running the team in the future.

He would be a good starter, but out of our range, I think.

really??
Sessions has an existing qualifying offer for $1M for the 09-10 season.
Anybody have an decent grasp of how much money it would actually take to sign him ?
With Sessions in place, and signing Taylor Griffin, we’d have a decent core moving forward, and a solid bench. We’re still a decent center shy of contending, but this is a team that Kerr can keep together over the next few years. Let Goran become the full time backup/2nd point

Hmmmmm
I would absolutely LOVE to get Sessions, personally think he could be a star. I might have overestimated the amount of money he could get. If he would consent to be back up, I would sign him in a second. However, that probably means no Nash extension, and what would we do with Dragic until Steve is gone? Still, if we could sign Sessions, we should do it.
If he is so cheap, why hasn’t someone snapped him up?

Sessions finished the season strong. I think he’ll get picked up pretty quick, and for more money than we’d be willing to spend.
I like Watson, but we have 3 PG’s, 2 of which need more minutes. Barbosa hasn’t average more than 30 mpg in his career and Dragic needs more on the court minutes to develop.

Love the guy, but Barbosa shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the pg position..
he’s doing double duty, but shouldn’t be running the team, except as part of a double point, passing 2-man backcourt (i.e when you let Nash play shooting guard)

Sessions would be great but is out of our price range.I dont know how i feel about dragic hes looked very average hasent impressed too much maybe last night was his coming out but he doesnt do good with pressure…he could be a good back up but once Nash leaves he shouldnt be our starting point guard

Stop pretending
Dragic is a bust! He looks like Nash if Nash COULD NOT shoot, pass, or anything else. Just because he is the only draft pick we have kept doesnt mean we need to pretend he is good. This dude looks like every stereotype of why white dudes cant ball. I’m so tired of hearing about this guy. Get rid of him. Maybe if we had been smart and kept players we drafted like Rajon Rondo and Rudy Fernandez we wouldnt have to pretend this guy can be something.
still too early to make that call.
and, btw, there’s no guarantee that either Rondo or Fernandez (who was just let go for cash, right??) would have developed to the same extent with the Suns.

I feel Dragic has his nights where we all think (or HOPE) the light switch turned on and he’ll be teh PG of the future, but what worries me about him is his lack of confidence/swagger/control of the team and whatever else you wanna call it. How is he going to handle pressure in the playoffs if he can’t even handle the exhausting pressure of las vegas summer league. i know you can say ‘’well he’ll get that confidence and be fine" but when? he still has deer in headlights look and will get eaten up by starting points-he’s just too soft, we need to get tougher not softer-quit babying little gor gor, this is the last year for me, either he makes big strides or cut the cord and get him out.
