Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Tucker Lopez J-Rich Dudley

Alando Tucker and Robin Lopez

for

Chris Douglas Roberts and Sean Williams

the numbers match-up salary wise..It could work for both teams..the nets are rebuilding and can get a guy who can really score in Alando Tucker if he can get on the floor and a young defensive big in Robin Lopez. Also Sean Williams and Lawrence Frank dont have the best relationship and can give him a change in scenary.

Phoenix gets CDR who i think would be great in our system.he can shoot defend and is super athletic and played an up and down system thats similar to ours in college..and Sean Williams is described as a "poor mans Amare" he can defend and get out and run and could be a good starter or bench player, and can compliment Stat or Frye well..

or what about

Jason Richardson and Jared Dudley

to Chicago for

Tyrus Thomas and John Salmons Jerome James

Chicago gets a guy in Richardson that can do a lot of what been Gordon did as far as coming in and scoring. he can cause a few match up problems because he is good with backing down smaller players and he can also play the 2 or 3.Jared Dudley is a hustle player with great defense and an improving jumpshot  that has a lot of upside as shown last yr and can get more playing time in Chicago which will give him an opportunity to become better.

Phx gets Tyrus Thomas(who we wanted in the Amare deal) that can do a lot what matrix did for us..he is a solid defender and a freak athlete and his jump shot is improving and would get a lot of easy baskets with Nash as the point guard..he can play the 3/4 or 5 if we go small because hes so athletic and can defend..Salmons could be our starting 2..he had a break out yr  last season. He can score well and would get a lot of chances to better his numbers from last yr seeing how there would be 4 legit scoring threats with him on the floor..hes super long and can defend better than Richardson..and Jerome James is an expiring contract that i believe is 80% covered by insurance..He'd probably just ride the bench but hes another big

Why?

would we do the nets trade? Two scrubs with potential, for two worse scrubs with similar skills? Why not just stay pat.
I would like the second one, but that would give us an INCREDIBLE logjam at the forward spots with Clark, Thomas, Salmons, Hill, Amar’e, and Lou competing for two forward spots and two backups – and I want all of those players to get time.

Both trades are stupid...

Too many people want to do too many drastic things to this already good team. Leave it as is! If anything, just try to pick up someone for the Center position to come off the bench and protect Lopez/Frye. Someone mentioned Kurt Thomas. Someone else mentioned Drew Gooden. Either would give us 6 more fouls to use and added strength and depth at the 4 & 5 spots. Otherwise, leave us as we are. We’re fine as is: Nash running the team with Hill, Richardson and Stoudamire as explosive scoring threats, and a pretty solid bench led by another explosive player in Barbosa. Let’s not forget the tough guys we have in Amundson, Dudley, Tucker, and now Clark and Griffin. This is a competitve team! We’re probably better right now than the year we were knocked at by the Spurs b/c of those infamous suspensions.

I agree with everything you said

all the way to the last sentence. Unless J-Rich turns into Raja Bell on defense and Clark turns out to be a bigger, longer Shawn Marion, we are arguably a weaker defensive team than the one that lost to the Spurs. Right now, our perimeter defense just isn’t there.

Not catching Spurs

We might catch the Spurs of last year, but look at this:

PG Parker/Hill
SG Manu/Mason
SF Jefferson/Finley
PF McDyess/Blair
C Duncan/Ratliff

If I was a Spurs fan (a little bit like saying, if I liked North Korean dictators ), I would be pretty excited about my chances, especially if the Lakers don’t sign Odom. The best the Suns can hope for is a #8 playoff position, and that is because Houston has seen lightning strike three times.

I doubt either team bites on these. Maybe a J-rich for Tyrus, but why. It doesn’t really make either team that much better.
Focus on Sasha, he will be the next player dealt.

Mark West Should be a Hall of Famer-----maybe

bulls

definitely like the second trade, tyrus would be a great inside defensive presence that we need.
