ride out the season...
So heres what Im thinking....
everyone is scared nash will leave for nothing....
everyone is scared stat will opt out and leave for nothing....
However it wont be for nothing it will be for boat loads of cap space.
I think we should play out the season and evaluate during the trade deadline. If we have a chance of pushing to the top 4 seeds then I think we should make a play for someone using wallace's expering. If the suns are not doing so hot then trade J rich for nothing and at the end of the season we stand like this.
1.) let Nash and Amare walk.
2.) Evaluate Amundson and Tucker
Salarys look like this.
Barbosa $7,100,000
Dragic $1,972,000
Jared Dudley $2,151,068
Robin Lopez $1,867,320
Grant HIl? $ 3,500,000?
Earl Clark $ 1,837,560 ?
Thats about $18,427,948 total in team salarys. That would be about 37 million under the cap.( give or take a few million depending on Tucker, Hill, and Amundson)
the suns would have three advantages most teams would not when it comes to getting star players.
1.) Pheonix is a much better destination then most citys that are trying to land a star.
2.) We would already have strong role players ready to play( Barbosa, Hill) aswell as (Hopefully) very strong bench guys. (dragic, dudley, amundson, Lopez?)
3.) we would have enough cap space to give max contracts to TWO different supper stars and still enough to offer a solid chunck of cash to a B-tier type player.
I think this is the best option instead of drastically overpaying ether nash or amare.
Also Butcher twittered this "FYI: Phx can deal Big Ben for Ty Chandler anytime they want. They're checking all other options before going down that road."
P.S. Correct me if any of my numbers are Wrong.
P.S.S. are the summer league games going to be on air or is the only way to watch them to go to them live?

Secondly, Grant Hill is having no part in that rebuilding search for a star nonsense. He is trying to win a ring or be on a competitive team that is moving towards a ring. He has made over 100 million in the league in salary, since he doesnt care about money really he will leave and play for the vet minimum somewhere.

Ive heard that grant said he would retire if traded last season...
I think he feels only the suns medical staff can keep him playing 70+ healthy games. So i wouldn’t be surprised if he feels he needs to stay. Also its not really rebuilding ryanmarcus. It’s more like what we did this last year but maybe no j-rich or maybe an added player via Wallace (Depending on how the first half of the season goes). After this season he has the option to see who the suns can sign and then evaluate if he wants to come back.
anyway, with or without grant hill the strategy really doesn’t change.

thank you
i agree with you 100%
all the suns have to do is keep their cool and not crumble under the pressure.
figuring that we may miss the playoffs again. alot of fans will call for change and teams will be offering trades for amare and the whole gang. all kerr has to do is make sure that we get only expiring contracts and draft picks or all hope is lost

RE:
This is the best logical sence I’ve read. maintaining and staying cool with the figures now makes us very competative in the summer of 2010. But the word of caution here is the team needs to keep winning and not explode which I dont this will happen.

yep
this idea of trading our players because we want to get something of value in return and not let them walk for nothing is wrong. You don’t hear this about D-Wade and Lebron. People might ask themselves why would anyone want to come to Phoenix as a free agent? They would because in basketball we’re a large market, and players like to play in warm cities. You’re idea is the most logical course of action.
Let the fools have their tartar sauce!
