Come Home Shawn

As I sit here thinking what to write, it dawned on me...

I could list reason, upon reason as to why you should come back. Most of which would pertain to us Suns fans who have long since missed your undeniably amazing talent and effort you put forth while in a Suns Uniform.

But that wouldn't be meaningful enough...

I'll just say what possibly every one of your fans has thought at one time or another.

Whether or not you see it to be true, or anyone else for that matter, you were the heart and soul of the Phoenix Suns. You gave your all as much as you possibly could. We couldn't ask for anymore than that. Not one true Suns fan could deny the passion with which you played. So many of our biggest moments in this teams history could not have been accomplished with out you...

I can understand how you wanted to be "the man" of a contending team and not want to be in the shadow of either Steve or Amar'e, but that's what made you so valuable to us. No one else could appreciate the intangible things you did the same way us Suns fans do. They might say they could...but they can't. You always had a knack for being in the right place in the right time...

This maybe a personal bias but I feel strongly that it is true. No other fans have appreciated you more than those in Phoenix. We were the ones who watched you blossom from Rookie to an All Star. You helped contribute to one of the most entertaining teams in recent history and whether or not you were getting national praise you were definitely getting it at the place that mattered most....home.

So please, take a look back at the last couple years and your time in Miami and Toronto. And then think about your time in Phoenix...

I won't say that it'll be exactly like before if you come back....but consider it.

Truth!

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

Interesting

how the heart and soul of the team was so willing to leave.

Shawn

Go away, don’t come back. You did great when you were here, but you are a headcase with an overvalued sense of self worth and as you’ve shown in Miami and Toronto, you’re pretty much washed up.

We’d rather give minutes to Earl Clark, Alando Tucker and Jared Dudley.

He’s only worth it if those trades have really adjusted his attitude — for good. He won’t be expecting that same money, but will he still think he deserves more credit, more shots, more attention? And if he could show up in the playoffs, that’d be great too. Otherwise we’d be better off with the lesser player in Frye.

Never showed up in the playoffs?

Here’s a link to his stats. compare the regular season to the post-season

reg season: 17.8 pts, 9.9 rbs, 2 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.3 blocks
playoffs: 17.1 pts, 10.9 rbs, 1.4 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks

that’s consistency. that’s what he did for the Suns. Granted, this isn’t max-player performance or stepping it up for the playoffs in super-star fashion; but, to say he disappeared during the playoffs is wrong.
