The unofficially official Phoenix Suns comic strip

Box-n-1_logo_medium

Welcome to the first edition of Box n' 1 - a new comic strip featuring the Phoenix Suns. I will be posting a new strip every week for the next three weeks as a trial run - while I enjoyed putting it together, it was very time consuming - so if you like it and would like for it to continue beyond the three week trial period please leave feedback or rec it to let me know.

lol great start

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

I like it, but come on...

cut Gentry some slack, atleast he used his bench, unlike Mike (I wonder why we have more than 6 players) D’Antoni or Terry Porter.

Mavericks near deal for Marion

By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports2 hours, 32 minutes ago
The Dallas Mavericks are close to acquiring Shawn Marion(notes) in a sign-and-trade deal with the Toronto Raptors, league sources said Wednesday.
Jerry Stackhouse(notes) will be dealt to the Raptors, who will ship his contract to another team for considerations.
The Memphis Grizzlies or Oklahoma City Thunder are believed to be the possible third team involved because they can absorb contracts without having to give any salary back to Toronto.
If Stackhouse is waived before Aug. 10, only $2 million of his $7 million salary for next season is guaranteed.
The Dallas Morning News first reported that the Mavericks are nearing a deal for Marion, describing the trade as "on the lip of the cup."

Marion to Dallas

And that, ladies and gentlemen, would be that.

So, let’s recap what the team has done during to improve itself during the off season. Close your eyes. What do you see? Nothing. That is correct. Some would argue that shipping off Shaq was an improvement but I’m not one of those folks. Grant looks gone. Not signing Barnes might be an improvement I suppose but look for Barnes to hit a game winning three with XYZ team at some point during the next season. Meanwhile, LA signs Ron Ron, Spurs get RJ and probably McDyess. Dallas will give it one last go with Kidd, Marion and Nowitzki.

Not sure where I see any optimism here. Anybody see any strategy here other than slash and burn to get under the cap?
