Coro breaks down the Taylor G signing. Cheap. Good for team chemistry. Works hard which might rub off on Clark.

Spin, spin, spin, spin, spin...
The Suns have gotten good at spinning their boneheaded moves…“Good for team chemistry” in other words, we didn’t want to bring in somebody who might actually challenge for minutes and make player X unhappy that he had to actually earn his minutes instead of getting them by default.
This move makes NO SENSE! Even if he is buried at the end of the bench we don’t need another 3/4 combo and you’re trying to tell me Dowdell wouldn’t have played for the same amount of money at a position we actually could use some more depth at? At least Amare is going to be a beast this year.
Are you talking about Griffin? I’m neutral on him, but I have never seen a signing of a player of Griffin’s stature irritate Suns fans so much. I mean, this isn’t the only Suns site where he is being grumbled about. I hope he can hang around like Alando Tucker a chance to prove you wrong.

Correction: “hang around like Alando Tucker and get a chance to prove you wrong eventually.”

Griffin...
Doesn’t fill a need where Dowdell would have. Griffin was an 8 and 5 player IN COLLEGE and people talking about NBA upside? Look, the Suns should not have drafted Griffin at all and they definitely shouldn’t have given him a contract – just another bad draft by the Suns. Suns have hustle players (Lou/Dudley), Suns have 3/4s (Clark/Dudley/Hill) Suns need depth in the 4/5 position and the point…Griffin provides none of that. So why would Suns fans be excited about a player that the Suns drafted based on his brother’s talent and then gave a contract to even though they could have used that money elsewhere?
I can’t disagree; it’s not as though I cheered Griffin. I’d never heard of him or seen him on any draft websites.
There were several second-round prospects I liked or at least was paying attention to: Toney Douglas (jumped into the first round); Patrick Beverley; Lester Hudson (taken eleven spots after Griffin), and Paul Harris (not drafted).

Hard for Griffin to rub off on Clark from the D-league.
Maybe there is something to him being a good citizen and not causing any headaches, however.
Who are these guys again?
maybe the "good for team chemistry" is a real thing.
there are definitely guys out there that everyone wants to play with. steve nash is one of those guys. he just seems like a good guy that you can get along with off court, and on the court, he helps make you look good by getting the ball to you when you need it. good chemistry.
while griffin may not make you look good on the court (unless he actually plays, and people say, wow, i guess robin lopez actually ISN’T the worst player on the team), he seems like one of the guys you want to have around in the locker room to joke with, to buddy up with, and to have a good time with.
and, it also helps that that guy that you can joke, buddy up, and have a good time with actually has a sense of work ethic. for the league minimum, why not give him a shot? maybe he really will rub off on clark. maybe there were some things we don’t know about dowdell. (maybe he was a little too much of a prima donna?)
all’s i know is, taylor griffin is now a phoenix sun, whether you like it or not. he seems to be a great guy, a hard worker, and while he may not possess the greatest skill set, he’s an inexpensive player to fill out the roster spot.
and, to end on a question to put things into perspective: selected 57th overall in the 2005 draft, who actually knew that marcin gortat was going to be the player he is today?
every decision
has a bright side and of course the Suns (or any organization really) will always put that reason forward…normal

and every decision
will have a downside, and of course this blog (or any other member of the blogosphere) will bring that reason forward.
oh, what a love/hate relationship it is.

Spot on
that drop you noticed in the numbers is obvious on the court as well though. It’s gotten to where the team is playing much faster with Swanier pushing the ball. Meek of late has seemed more tentative and unsure of her role. The ball seems to be in her hands less. Frankly, I don’t know what’s going on but in the past few weeks her game hasn’t been the same…

The Spears article says:
First up: Finding a pair of goggles. Stoudemire never would have needed season-ending surgery if he hadn’t abandoned the goggles he used last fall after his initial injury. His newest pair will be big enough to cover his entire eye area – bigger, he said, than the pair former Los Angeles Lakers forward James Worthy used to wear.
Ah…that explains why he wants to wear goggles indefinitely. I thought he was being superstitious.
