Steroid Scandal in the NBA?
I just ran across this. I tend to believe Lewis, but NBA news is slow so here it is.

Yeah, there's a whole storm of discussion going on at 3QC.
"Fun fact: Larry Hughes, who couldn’t stay healthy if all his human parts were replaced with bionic implants, is out for the next four weeks with a bruised leg. Do you think that Willis Reed ever reads about all these players missing time with bruises and sprained fingers and throws up in his mouth a little?"

I have no idea about Rashard
but I can’t imagine that the NBA is the only sport immune to cheating. Look at pro cycling and the high tech blood doping they use. Why on earth would we think that wouldn’t help NBA players and we all know what the incentives are to cheat….
Even if Lewis is “clean” in that he didn’t purposely cheat then it is still only a matter of time before someone else gets caught…except that the testing is no where near as comprehensive as it is for most international sports

This throws me a bit
because you can DHEA at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe for like 30 bucks.
It just doesn’t seem like that should be a banned substance if it’s both legal and over the counter.
I have a bit of hard time believing he didn’t know DHEA was in his supplement though, because usually DHEA is written real big on it. Maybe not though.
Don't feel bad, Channing. We can't rebound either.

maybe that just means it shouldn't be sold at GNC
You guys saw The Big Unit’s quote, right?
“I’m not denying I went to GNC and all that stuff,” said Johnson, who once endorsed Champion Nutrition, a company also linked to Mark McGwire and androstenedione. “I took a lot of different things that, you know, maybe at that time, maybe early enough if I would’ve been tested, who knows? I could have been taking stuff had they tested me back then. Maybe I would have tested (positive for a banned supplement). I don’t know.”
I suppose this provides all the room for debate. Everyone agrees that “steroids” (whatever that means from a chemical or biological standpoint) are bad and that it’s good to take extra vitamins. Sure seems that there’s a pretty good area where arbitrary lines are drawn, though.

Arbitrariness
seems a given here, especially when it’s up for debate as to whether DHEA even enhances performance.
But yeah when you first have the FDA drawing a iine and then individual sports leagues drawing their own lines, I don’t have high hopes.
