I love AI...
I’ll tell you right now that AI taking that Philly team to the Finals was one of the single greatest individual performances in the history of anything. They even stole a game from an LA squad that was far superior in almost every aspect of the game. Like I said, I love AI…love his game and determination and feel that he has gotten more blame in some things that went wrong than he probably deserved. The fact that he is still unsigned is just unbelievable to me. Quick plug for something I’m in no way associated with…I am looking forward to the ESPN 30 in 30 documentary on AI.

I totally agree about AI
although I am not all that surprised that he doesn’t have a job. Young teams like the Thunder or (apparently) the Grizz don’t what the distraction and don’t think he has enough left to get them to the next level and the good veteran teams already have solid PG rotations.
the only teams that come to mind are Pacers and the Bucks. Both teams are kind of stuck and both could get a little better and be in the playoff picture in the east.
Btw – best I can tell, Stromile Swift doesn’t have a job either.

I don't know all that's going on...
I’m guessing he’s looking for a multi-year deal and teams aren’t wanting to commit to that but if he were willing to take a 1 year offer why wouldn’t a team that is on the outside looking in right now take a chance on a guy who is more than capable of scoring 25 – 30 points a night and will DEFINITELY ensure that butts are in the seats? I mean, Boston gave CrazyBury a chance last year – Iverson is far less of a risk at this point than that, right? I mean, look at the money that was getting/got thrown at Marcin Gortat – obviously not the same position or anything – but you can’t tell me that it makes sense for teams to be throwing money like that around on a guy like Gortat who was a serviceable backup while ignoring a talent like Iverson. I mean, hey, as long as Dallas is configuring the ‘04 All Star team (as others have put it) why not throw money at AI and let him, JKidd and Terry hold down the backcourt with Marion, Dirk and whoever they’re running at Center…that’s a pretty solid lineup, right?

Yeah...well
there’s a long long LONG history of bigs having one good year and a nice playoff run and getting over paid as a result. Although I do think Gortat was worth that contract….
I have no idea what AI is looking for but clearly teams aren’t going to want to pay him more than a couple of mil. Wonder if he’ll end up in Greece or Italy. He would be a HUGE draw overseas and could make solid bank

That would make sense to me. And maybe a foreign market would enjoy his music. He could revive his hip hop career

That’s pretty surprising. I would have that on paper Sun Tzu’s squad would have had the advantage.

I wouldn’t. Stoudemire’s team had Robin Lopez; the other team had Lou Amundson. No further discussion seems necessary.

And what’s this about Amare Stoudemire’s retina possibly being detached again? Does the sports media not know what it’s talking about, or will that actually be possible for the rest of his career? I thought his retina healed!
