Amaré to OKC (if things keep going bad)

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yj22vzl + Phoenix 1st rounder that OKC got from the Kurt Thomas trade.

If things keep going bad for the Suns (really, a win over the Nets counts nothing, tonight is the night to prove they are back to the winning ways) I'd try to make this trade if I were Steve Kerr for some reasons:

Jeff Green is a match-up problem, he can play from the 2 to 4 and would probably be the starting 3 in the next year (or this, if the Suns trade Grant Hill after sending Amare and giving up on the Season). James Harden is going to be an All Star in this league and the Suns need a 2 who can create for others, not like Jason Richardson and Barbosa who can only create for themselves. Thomas would just be a filler.

For the Thunder, Amaré is the inside scorer they need to get over the top, they'd be really scary with a combo of Amaré and Kevin Durant. Earl Clark would be a throw in because he can be very good in the future, and would probably be a poorer version of Jeff Green/Boris Diaw/Lamar Odom.

Seems fair to me, neither side is abusing the other (like Devin Harris for Farmar and Morrison, this is a slap on the face, really). What do you people think?

I think not. Early Clark has unlimited potential. He’s one of the most original talents I’ve seen come into the game in a long time. When he develops he has the chance to be an outstanding player. Even if he was given time now, he’d put up numbers that wouldn’t be far off of Green’s. Basically you’re trading Amare for Harden and a low level pick. I love Harden, but that’s not a good value.

Not Amare for Harden, Amare for Harden and Green, he is a very good player, not a franchise player, but a guy that every team who wants to win need.

Nice idea...

But I dont think we give up Hill or Clark. Why give away young talent since that is what this team is going for if they do trade.

Reading is good...

If we trade with OKC

I’d just to Amare for Jeff Green, our 1st rounder back, Thabo Sefalosha, and Etan Thomas’ expiring.

Speaking as a Thunder fan

I wouldn’t give up all of that. We could use an inside presence, sure, but we also have a tight chemistry in the locker room right now, and I wouldn’t want that ruined. As it stands, not many in Oklahoma expect a deep playoff run this year. I’m fine with walking away with an appearance and signing someone like Bosh in the offseason.

Sefalosha over Harden, really? Sefalhosha is what he is, Harden can be much better if given the minutes and the oportunity

I love Sefalosha

a big, athletic defensively oriented 2 to play next to Nash and hit open three’s?

He’s Raja Bell but better

or hit more than 35.7% os his threes (carreer high in rookie season with only 15 3s made) while Raja shoots better 40% or more in 7 of his 9 NBA seasons

When you play with Nash

You have an instant rise of 5 or more % shooting the three. Look at Duds and Frye

Maybe a J-Rich trade for Marcus Camby they could use perimeter scoring off the bench and we could use a big that could hit jumpers..

I would give anything to see James Harden in a Suns uniform.

Also on that list: Josh Smith.

But…why would the Thunder trade away Green and Harden, both of which are playing fantastic roles for the young and aspiring ballclub? I would love to see it happen, but if Kerr were to propose that trade to Presti, this is about how it would go:

Kerr: Hey, Sam, it’s Steve. I see you could use a low post presence, and we’ve got just the solution for you. Amare Stoudemire.
Presti: I’m interested. Keep talking. Who would we have to give up?
Kerr: I was thinking Green, Harden, and Thomas’ expiring contract. He’s nothing but dead space to you guys, anyway. Oh, also, we would need our 1st round draft pick that we so lovingly gave to you guys a couple years back.
Presti: …
Kerr: Sam, you there?
Presti: (Raucous laughter)
Kerr: Damn it, I knew I shouldn’t have suggested it. Last time I listen to a blog for trade suggestions. (Kerr hangs up)

[30 seconds later]

(Phone rings)
Kerr: Hello? Kerr here.
Presti: (Continuing the raucous laughter)
Kerr: (muttering) I can’t believe I actually (expletive) (expletive) proposed that (expletive) trade, I must be a (expletive) moro…(click).

Aaaand, scene.

On Second thought.....

Trade Jason Richardson to OKC for James Harden and our old 1st round pick. That would make sense. Harden is young and is scoring way better than j rich.
