All About Matching up

We've been through this before, Suns need more rebounding and the defensive plan has so many holes; are point guards going to continue to be a tough match up for Nash ? Turk at PF is out of position and although this doesn't seem to be a problem on offense where he can stretch the D an will be faster than his defender most of the time, but on defense, it's a nightmare.

That is why I have a little suggestion that I'm hoping coach Gentry would consider or see, go with the following starting lineup:

PG- Steve Nash

SG- Jason Richardson

SF- Hedo Turkoglu OR Grant Hill

PF-Hakim Warrick OR Channing Frye

C- Lopez

Now, on defense, Grant Hill played very good defense on Kobe Bryant last year, but let's face it, it's Kobe Bryant, maybe having Hedo come off the bench, along with JD will really put the pressure on players like Kobe. A combination of both can stop team like Boston who have Pierce and Allen on the wings, with JD and J-Rich subbing in, our parameter will be as safe as it's been since the 90's.

On the inside, would you rather have Lopez and Hakim/Frye on the inside rather than Lopez and Hedo ? They're both longer and stronger, they can rebound better , with Hedo being bigger than most SF in the league rebounding by committee makes more sense than ever.

On offense, Frye can stretch the D, Hakim can give us an offensive rebounder, while his offense is not that good, he's definitely the type of big man you want on the run, he's been waiting for this all his life.

A second unit with Hedo or Grant in it will do great, having Hedo as a PF on the second unit with JD, Childress, Goran , Hakim/Frye, Lawal and Clarke works better.

Off course there's always the diva factor, which means that that Hedo might not like the idea of being a high profile summer acquisition and ending up on the second team, and mess up this team's biggest advantage - Chemistry. So that's for Coach to decide.
