Stay Thirsty Bright Side...Stay Thirsty

In a small section of the mind of Steve Nash where P-N-R’s and mind-boggling passes intersect, lies a foundation so incongruous that people see it over and over every game--but are blind to the immutable power before their eyes.  The etching all over this foundation is a somewhat bizarre catchphrase: “Stay Thirsty.”  This inscription might inspire funky thoughts of commercials with a 60 something playboy who is incapable of doing anything but alighting the world wherever his feet tread—but it is so much more than this….! ”Stay Thirsty” is the guiding tenet behind the mind and wizardry of one Steven J. Nash.

“Stay Thirsty” decries a man driven by unquenchable passion and a thirst for point guard excellence. It allows a point guard to lead teams to the WCF (2006, 2010) that the pundits said would be lucky to win 45 games. It permits a man to will his teams to wins, whether his eye is closed, his nose busted, playing on one leg, with Marcus Banks as the backup, and yes....it can also carry this current squad to the playoffs. “”Stay Thirsty” carries a torch for a much more profound reason than just a simple desire to be good….it demands excellence above mere mortal excellence.  It cries out for a special mission to carry out a great legacy; to cherish the opportunities of a basketball season and triumph over its ebbs and flows.

What I am alluding to is that “Stay Thirsty” is so more than an idea… It is a call to arms for all BSOTS.  Founded on the minds, legs, and passing excellence of Steve Nash, this team is capable of greatness…It is just a matter of “staying thirsty”. I call for BSOTS to “Stay Thirsty” as well. Yes, our team allowed 123 points to an offensively inept 76’ers team….Yes, our team lost a home game to the Clippers….Yes, our team is one of the worse defensive teams of all time… Yes, our team is 13-17 and not looking good…. I am not blind and I recognize all of this--but with Steve Nash, all that can change in a moment. I have seen it before, and I shall see it again.

We can complain till 2012 but as long as “Stay Thirsty” is there, there is always, always a chance. Always hope. Always potential. Always an oppportunity. We at BSOTS must be the beacon of light that others can latch onto to help “Stay Thirsty” find a way to the rest of the team.  We must align ourselves “Stay Thirsty” to shine a spotlight on excellence in all things BSOTS around the world.  I believe that this team has put itself in a position where it must operate from here on out on the truly virtuoso platform that is Steve Nash.  “Stay Thirsty” will pull the potential out, and draws upon the insights, talents, skills, and expertise of the other members of the Phoenix Suns. Things will change.

From here on out, I invite you to slip beneath the cracks of Steve Nash’s skin and touch the foundation that holds that greatness together. I ask you to feel the excellence in how the builder put the pieces together with quality…I want you to see the solidness that decries one of the greatest point guards that the world has ever see….I encourage you to discover what “Stay Thirsty” is all about and to share its goodness.  You shall know that "Stay Thirsty" cannot be contained...It must spread and it will spread!

I invite you to “Stay Thirsty” my friends....
