Amare Stoudemire Dunks All Over Dante Cunningham

Yes. The Suns got their asses kick by the Trail Blazers (Gentry's words) but at least there was this really awesome dunk form Amare on what could turn out to be his last home game as a Phoenix Sun if he's traded before next week's deadline.

Step back, Suns fans and just enjoy this for what it is. Don't think. Don't analyze. Don't trade machine. Just enjoy it.

Beautiful

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

Greg Oden, Joel Przybilla, Dante Cunningham protecting the rim…with mixed results.

The difference

is Amare didn’t see him coming and try to contest the shot like Cunningham did – so it fails in comparison. Cunningham got up – but it wasn’t nearly as humiliating as having your arm broken – face dunked on – getting nearly knocked over on the follow through – AND getting called for the foul.

They say "don't swim with the sharks", but I'm faster than sharks so it's not a big deal...

I’d rather have a guy who actually tried to defend the basket. And apparently so do a lot of people on this site, considering all of the “Trade Amare” fanposts I see every time I look in here.

2010-11 dream lineup: Oden/LMA/Batum/Roy/Dre; Okafor/Freeland/Cunningham/Webster/JB/Pendy/Mills.

ooooohhh you burned me and Amare!

Way to jump on the bandwagon my friend. And you’re sooooo right – I’d rather have Cunningham averaging 4 points and 2 rebounds a game than Stoudemire at 20+ and 9.

I didn’t say I’d take Dante over Amare. I said I’d rather have a guy who actually tried to defend the basket.

Please resume your slobbering all over Amare while he’s still wearing a Suns uniform. And while you’re at it, go look at some Dominique Wilkins highlights on YouTube. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of clips of him “burning” the Celtics and the Lakers.

theres not a lot Amare could have done there

his back was to Dante because he was guarding Miller’s potential drive to the hoop (he’d been doing it all game) He didn’t even see Dante coming.

Although even if he had, he probably wouldn’t have tried to block it, he would have just stood there and tried to take the charge…

There wasn't a lot Amare could have done,

because he had no idea where the ball was. That doesn’t take away from Amare’s dunk at all. If a Blazer performed that kind of dunk, I’d be drooling all over it.

Both were nice.

It wasn't the first time I'd been kicked in the cherries and called a rat by a woman, but it was the first time I didn't mind.

True – at the same time there was nothing that Dante could do. Dante was guarding Frye on the other side of the lane… it was really Aldridge that got burned on the play. Can anyone defend a pick and roll anymore?

We (Blazers) are terrible at it.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

He blacks out the front of his mouth guard.

I don’t know why.

I think it'd be cooler if he was missing teeth,

Seriously he could play the intimidation factor, “Whatcha gonna do to me I have no teeth anyway”

Kind of an old school hockey player look! :-)

Wow Amare dunking on a player doing something he never does, defend the rim. We all notice him duck

out of the shot as Cunningham jumped over him in the 4th and smashed the ball through the hoop.
