I would like to take an in depth look at who is better at this game we call basketball.
Let's look at the stats.
Amare
G | MIN | FGM-A | FG% | 3PM-A | 3P% | FTM-A | FT% | OFF | DEF | TOT | STL | BLK | TO | PF | AST | PTS |

13.9% Rebound Rate, 13.0% TO Rate, 4.8% Assist Rate

Aldridge
52 | 37.3 | 369-745 | .495 | 5-15 | .333 | 150-197 | .761 | 2.3 | 6.0 | 8.3 | .77 | .52 | 1.35 | 2.85 | 2.0 | 17.2 |
13.9% Rebound Rate, 6.9% TO Rate, 10.5% Assist Rate
1 Year Defensive Rating -1.63(Courtesy of basketballvalue.com)
So what do the stats tell us? Pretty much what we already knew...
Amare is a considerably more efficient scorer. Aldridge is better at passing and not turning the ball over. They are identical as rebounders. Aldridge also appears to make a greater impact on the defensive end when in the game.
Edge: Tie, I hate to do this but they are just different players. LMA doesn't have near the finishing capabilities that Amare has but makes up for it with a nice touch around the basket, better defense, and setting up his teammates more.
Who would you guys rather have as your starting 4 regardless of salary?
