Goran Dragic Live Chat: Monday, 1130am MST
Suns backup point guard and Slovenia wonder kid Goran Dragic will be joining us for a live chat on Monday after Suns practice.
Goran will take your questions in the comments of this post. You can start leaving questions now if you can't make it for the "live chat" but the best option is to just ditch school or work and show up and chat directly with Goran.
Timing is a little iffy because practice never ends at exactly the same time, but it is safe to assume that this will happen between 11:30am and about 12:15pm on Monday, February 22nd.
[Note by Seth Pollack, 02/22/10 12:23 PM MST ]
Thanks to Goran for participating in this!
We will set something up again with another player and try and schedule a bit more time. Thanks everyone for the questions

On playing behind Nash
Do you feel a lot of pressure having to support (and, in time, succeed) such a renowned point guard? What effect do you think playing behind him might have on your future career?

Some times it's hard
b/c STeve makes such a great play so it is a little bit pressure. Now I am used to that. I hope that someday I will play like that

who was your favorite sports figure growing up?
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

You're clearly all close on the team, it shows in the way the bench supports the starters and vice versa..
…and in the fact everyone joins in when the video camera is on. But if it came down to it, and you had to pick two of your current team mates to join you in playing the most important game of 3-on-3 of your life, who would they be and why?
Steve and Amare
b/c they are the best in their positions. That’s much easier to play with these two guys

Mr. Dragic
Some compare Nash and Amare’s pick and roll to Beethoven’s First Symphony—- a thing of pure perfection. Take me through the learning process and the psychological mindset you must go through to be in the graces of such brilliance.
Furthermore explain what the pressure is like to be the protege of Nash who is the creator of the immaculate pick and roll; the most beautiful piece of basketball art in history. What exactly does it feel like to be the second coming of Nash in these troubling times?

Hello Goran!
My question is about your nutrition: What is your diet like; what types of foods do you eat to stay healthy, how much do you eat each day, and how often do you eat every day? Do you watch your diet and your portions of fat/carbohydrates/proteins closely, or do you take a more relaxed approach to nutrition?
Also, does your diet change in the off season? I would think that you would eat more calories in the off season when you can focus more on building strength in the weight room.
The Mike Bibby through the legs feed to Frye
What was going through your mind when you made that pass? Were you trying to get Mike Bibby on the receiving end of a highlight real? It was an absolutely brilliant pass, and I just wanted to let you know that I love watching you play night in and night out. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to Suns basketball.

When are you going to have your own shoe?! I like your style… but I can’t bring myself to wear Kobe’s… It’s against my religion to sport any Laker gear – sorry!

Which do you prefer as a player...
Running the offense from the PG position or playing more off the ball as a wing/scoring guard?

Does it frustrate you
that teams often increase the on-ball pressure when you are running the point? And what adjustments have you made in order to prepare yourself for that?
They say "don't swim with the sharks", but I'm faster than sharks so it's not a big deal...
I see your game evolving in that you are becoming more of a facilitator first and
then a scorer second. Does playing with and watching Steve Nash help you in terms of seeing the whole court and finding your teammates? Has Steve helped you in other ways that perhaps we as fans might not expect?
he's on the practice court right now

thnks, that was the one thing i wanted to know. I think he makes a better point guard as well but can get more minutes and experience playing both now.
I think we have our future point guard replacement for Nash. He keeps his confidence level hight and keep attacking the basket with that lighting speed he will be good.
maybe kerr can draft em

Dragic’s block on C.J. Wattson’s layup attempt last month was memorable. I think that was the top 2 block of the season for the suns, only behind by that ridiculous block by amare on marion’s dunk attempt last week.
Dragic should explode to more more games like that at Utah preety soon.
The play that sticks out for me was the between-the-legs pass on ATL.
How far do you think Dragic has come in terms being an eventual successor to Nash?
"Do not pray for easier lives; Pray to be stronger men."

!The #1 Suns fan this side of the pond!
That pass was...
sensational. But I stick with the block as Dragic’s best play of the year, because great defensive plays from the Suns are so very rare to see. I think Dragic is slowly becoming a good player, but I don’t know yet about him being the successor to Nash. I think they are different type of players – and point guards, but I sincerely hope that will happen.

anybody else really excited to see what he can do starting for Nash tomorrow?
Westbrook is a good defensive point guard from the same draft class (if i remember right) it will be interresting to see how he does going up against him.
rgreyslak@gmail.com ____ twitter @rgreyslak
Yea, but we shouldnt expect too much
OKC is on fire right now and this game will be very very tough on Goran.
"Yeah I could have been king, but maybe I already am king. Hail to the king baby." Ash from Army of Darkness
I just want to see him play with some aggression...
Attack and get into the paint like Nash to draw the defense and have some options to pass to… I’m excited to see how he handles this though
Absolutely
Westbrook is having great games, but I think Dragic is a better defender than Duhon, S. Rodriguez and J. Flynn and can give him more trouble. I also think that the length of Fropez can help Dragic containing Russell.
Wouldn't it be sweet
to break OKC’s 9 game winning streak? And also Durant’s streak of 28 games with 25 pts or more?
This game will be very special.
It will be easier to break their 9 game winning streak than Durant's 25+ ppg streak...
We don’t have anyone who can really give him trouble…
From the official Phoenix Suns twitter account:
“Steve Nash didn’t accompany the team to Okla. City for Tuesday’s game. Played thru back, abdominal issues to rack up 17 assists last night”
Should make for an interesting game tomorrow
Thunder are hot right now. Will be a good test for the team and Dragic.
I wonder if Dragic will ever log on again and contribute or read...
Maybe there is someone on the team that likes to write who would do a monthly blog or something? Lou looks like a blogger? :) Or Jaron Collins… he’s got a lot of time to sit and think right?
Maybe Robin Lopez would contribute? They say he likes to draw maybe watdogg and him can collaborate and produce some bonafide Suns art -
I guess I’m just excited that Goran would take the time to humor us – I shouldn’t get my hopes up.
They say "don't swim with the sharks", but I'm faster than sharks so it's not a big deal...
That would be great
Maybe something you could ask them about in the off season though when they got some downtime anyway.
Would be a real treat to have them contributing here.
This was awesome!
although i couldn’t be here live I got to read everything, and it’s just great.
thank you again, Seth, and all of the Bright Side family, for quenching all of my Suns fandom needs. You guys do a great job in bringing the team closer to us and I apreciate all of your hard work!
