Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

BSOTS voice of reason

There were two completely and utterly pathetic displays of basketball sunday vs the Spurs.

Both left me starring at my TV dumbfounded asking myself "Did that really just happen?"

The first is the one everyone is talking about with J-Rich's dunk. I don't think there's an explanation to this. So for our peace of mind I don't think it's wise to try to put rationale to it. He's a two time dunk contest winner and he blew an open dunk attempt. It's an unexplained fluke of sports. Of course it happens to the Suns vs the Spurs...

The second I haven't seen anyone talk about or post anything about here. But it was just as bad. Nash trying to make a game tying assist as time expires? I mean really? That's got to be one of the stupidest things I've seen on the court this year. How does someone not have that awareness? How does someone who is praised constantly for having great instincts and awareness on the court screw something up so badly?

It's the old coaches adage: physical mistakes are to be expected, but the mental mistakes are inexcusable. Even Tirico covered it up trying not to call Nash an utter fool. Well I won't, Nash was an utter fool.

In the post game

recap from Coro, it was reported that Nash stumbled on the play and therefor couldn’t get the shot up.

It was ugly but you simply can’t count on hitting a buzzer beater three after going full court to tie a game.

It was unfortunate, but much less of an issue than the missed dunk or giving up a couple of key offensive rebounds.

Frye was inside the arc because he thought Nash was taking the shot. It wasn’t designed to go to Frye.

So you're our voice of reason, then?

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

In a crazy way

i agree with you. It urks me bad to how when we play the spurs some ole dumb shit happens. It seems to be like that everytime we play them (i FUCKING hate the spurs). You can add Duncans miracle 3-point shot, our key pieces (amare and diaw) getting suspended, along with the whole shaq experiment to the list of BS thats happend to us.
