According to sources from ESPN, Finely is soon going to be released by the Spurs, so he can pursue other options with other teams. He is averaging 3.7ppg in about 15mpg in 25 games with the Spurs. He will be turning 37 soon. With, RJ, Bogan, Mason, Manu and Hill; the wing spots are pretty filled and the Spurs just haven't had as much need for Finely as they have had in the past.
I think he could help strengthen a contenders bench out there. In fact I think he could help us little. To be honest with you I don't have much faith in Barbosa being able to come back from injury with just under 20 games left to go and give us that kind of lift off the bench that he used to do. We all know that J-Rich struggles to score from time to time and Finely could be a decent backup to him. Finley wouldn't command as many minutes as Barbosa would. He'd be there to hit the three and play decent perimeter defense when J-Rich isn't. He also provides veteran leadership with championship experience. We have a good medical staff to keep him healthy as well. He'd be a small upgrade and wouldn't be that risky to our chemistry as it would be to have Barbosa come back.
