Open Game Thread: Suns vs Nuggets
Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns, Mar 1, 2010 7:00 PM MST
Coaches Notes:
- Coach Gentry said the Suns had no hangover from yesterdays game. They just put it behind them and move on
- Last possession, Steve was supposed to shoot the ball but stumbled and didn't get his feet under him which is why he passed to Frye. Gentry called it a desperation shot anyway
- All the NBA coaches will be wearing a lapel pin in honor of George Karl and the Hoops for St Jude program
- Gentry said if anyone can beat cancer, Karl can. "He's tough as hell"
- Barbosa was out with the team doing early warm-ups. He was shooting and dribble with only a little tape on his right wrist. His shot looked pretty good. Yesterday was his first day on the practice court. No time table yet for his return. Here's picture of him shooting...

I can't
Wait till the return of Barbs…All I’m worried about is having him shake all of the rust off by playoff time. Also, with all of the time his missed his legs are going to be EXTRA fresh and with how fast he already is he’ll be blazing by people with a full workload on there legs in the post-season.
Tonight will be a big game not only in the standings but in terms of showing how mature we are as a team..If we can pull this off and show no ill-effects from yesterday I’ll be a very, very happy camper.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
Hes probably lost his shape though so I would throw the extra fresh part out after a few games
BUT I feel that LB can get us into the second round if he comes in and gives us productive minutes

Thats why
I said by playoff time….He’ll get back in basketball shape if we can get him in a few weeks before playoff time and have him on a normal schedule with the rest of the team.

This game will be awesome

Does
it ever bug people when all of these professional analyst give there tips for the games…I’m not bashing on Mr. Chambers by any means but his tips were Play defense and avoid turnovers…REALLY? Play defense and avoid TURNOVERS?!!? How did you ever think of that? That applies to everygame…
My Tips for the game:
Score more than they do
make free throws
don’t let Griffin or Collins play…
I’ll be taking my paycheck in unmarked 100$ bills, FSN for my Buddha like wisdom keys to the game I just gave you.

JRich
had better have, like, 107 dunks tonight to makeup for that miss last night.
I want blood tonight. These guys like to run too, so we wont be outscoring them. We just have to play tougher and with more passion.
Hey people...
…we all feel good about tonight’s game? I suspect Gentry has to state there is no hangover for tonights game even though I can see us struggling slightly.
CAH05 – The game is now on nba lpb.
Fly like a butterfly..sting like a freaking bee!
That’s what we need to do tonight!

I'm slightly concerned - the longer JRich doesn't get a shot attempt, the more I fear he's gonna be icy cold today.
I dislike this Nuggets team a lot.
Not sure why because I like a few of their individual pieces but there’s something about them.
Oh, by the way, we can't use the 'tough back to back' excuse tonight because denver played the lakers last night.
However, we can use the ’we’re pretty old’ excuse.

New Orleans
is super, duper strapped for Cash. They’re not going to get rid of a young asset like that unless it involves a deal where they receive massive amounts of financial relief but somehow still keeps Paul happy which is a pretty much impossible task. David West will be an expiring contract next year and I don’t think New Orleans has much of a chance to re-sign him so I’d expect to see him on the move.
