Game Thread: Suns vs Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns, Mar 12, 2010 7:00 PM MST

Star-divide

Coaches Notes:

  • Gentry continued to sing Kobe's praises saying he was present for Kobe's first summer league game (he was with the Pistons) and they know then how special he'd be
  • The key to keep him off the line and out of the paint. A great night is if shoots 25 times and scores 35 points
  • Rebounding is key for the Suns against the longest team in the league
  • Jarron Collins might get a few minutes! Amare will likely play more to cover for Frye
  • Jackson said Farmar is still battling a hand injury and Vujacic has a shoulder injury but might play. P-Jax is looking for him to be able to fight through screens which has been an issue
  • Andrian Woj form Yahoo! Sports is here along with like 4 or 5 traveling media types from LA
  • Kobe was the first guy on the court shooting alone for about 20 minutes before the early Suns arrived at about 5:15pm

We just need to go out there and dominate.

The only way we win

The bench has to play very good and to me it all starts with Goran.

Lets

Give Collins a few minutes to come in and be the “Enforcer”…By that I mean come in and deliver some hard fouls and establish a gutsy style of play and not let them dominate us in the post since that’s what the Lakers are doing to do…Especially now with Channing gone they are going to put all of there height at the rim….Probably see a lot of Odom at 3 since he is 6’10 then the two seven footers in gasol and bynum.

A few minutes is all Collins needs...

Too slow, too unathletic and kinda out of shape to deal with the Lakers front line…

That's all I want

Give Collins 5-7 minutes…let him go out there and bang around and deliver some hard fouls…The one weakness the duo of Gasol and Bynum have is they aren’t known for being “bangers”

LB not playing is something we’ve survived and, at time, thrived without but Steve saying 3-4 weeks before it’s hurt again is like a death sentence.

It'st's gotta be Bynum's foul trouble..

If he is on the court 36 minutes a game…he pulls down 12 + a game…

Because there’s Gasol, Artest and Odom who crash boards more intensively on the average than the Suns.
