could this guy be a future steve nash?

riend of mine sent me this highlight reel of an american Point guard that is one of the surprise of the seasons in the german league. Josh wilson graduated from Northern arizona university averaged a mediocre 9 pts and 4 assists. Managed to get signed in germany last fall and has been on tear currently averaging 15 pts and 5.5 assists. He has a very similar style of game to steve nash except he also has above average quickness. He is well known for his court vision but is surprising a lot of people with his ability to get to the basket using solid ball handling skills.

i only watched the first few minutes, but that’s a pretty nice highlight reel. the thing is, its hard to tell just how good someone is when 1) they’re playing against inferior competition and 2) everything you see them do is something good. i do think it would have been interesting to get this guy on a 10 day contract when nash and dragic were banged up. more than likely wouldnt cut it in the NBA though…

I don’t know, but I’m interested. But you can be damn sure that other teams, potentially all of them, are interested too, and would compete for his services. :(

josh wilson

would be interesting to see how he would do if given an opportunity. and he seems to suit the suns style of play.

Watched him at NAU.

He had occasional flashes of being really good, and a handful of games where he carried the team. I also wouldn’t go anywhere near a Steve Nash comparison. That said, it couldn’t hurt to bring a local guy into training camp next year and see what he’s got now that his game has had more time to grow.

true a training camp opportunity would be good to see what he could do in such a situation.

Summer League or D-League.

That’s what they’re there for. And does anyone know what league Ehingen Steeples is in? Is it the main Euroleague or a minor league version of that?
