Playoff Push?

Hello,

With the Thunder losing the game recently to the Pacers we are once again the 5th seed. We are 1.5 games behind Utah. The forth seed is very possible at this point allowing us to have home court advantage against Utah. My question is who do you want the Suns to face in the Playoffs? Utah or Dallas? I personally think we matchup better against Dallas so I would like to see us play them, though it is more likely we will play Utah. It is a possible that we will win the first round series. Thus as the 4/5 seed we will play the first seed (Lakers) and as the 6 seed we will play the 2nd (Nuggets/Mavs). What do you guys think our playoff turnout will be?

The Warriors are to release Bell and keep Williams and George, the San Jose Mercury reports.

Could the Suns be interested in signing him? I know we have Barbosa, Jrich, Dragic, and Dudley all playing the SG but maybe we could sign him and trade JRich or Barbosa in the offseason for an athletic SF, since Grant Hill will be 38 next season. Would you guys want the Suns to sign him to get some more defensive help? Or do you think that we are having trouble passing out minutes to players already.

Just sign him for 1-2 years. He can’t play this season anyway due to injury. He’d be a good locker room presence. He could make a nice back up SG for next season.

Either Barbosa or J-Rich will be traded in the off season. I’m pretty sure one of them will be gone and it will be for a 1st round pick. Grant Hill stays if we get past the 1st round and if Amar’e stays for at least one more year. That’s my opinion. If not than Earl Clark probably gets thrown into the rotation.

It depends

if Kerr’s contract is renewed or not. If it is he will probably trade Barbosa or J-Rich for a late first rounder (19-30) and a filler. We have enough money to sign Rudy Gay or Richard Jefferson. But it would also be nice if we are able to trade Barbosa or J-Rich for someone like Kirilenko or Deng.

trade one or both for 1st or 2nd draft pick

I think that since trading them means making the shooting guard pool even thinner, I say trade one or both of them for the first or second pick in the draft, and use it to draft Evan Turner.

No no no....

Think of it this way. If you were the Kings would you trade Tyreke Evans to the Suns for J-Rich and or Barbosa? No. The best we can get for either is past the 10th pick. The timberwolves (probably going to draft Evan Turner) will never do this trade.

Here’s another idea. I don’t think the Nets will do this unless they really care about nothing but money, but what if Leandro Barbosa could be traded to the Nets for Devin Harris?

by 8472species on Mar 21, 2010 8:02 PM MDT up reply actions

Erm...don't think that will happen either. Devin Harris is an Allstar caliber point guard. Barbosa is more of a Sixth Man 15 ppg guy. And why do we need Devin Harris when we have Nash and Dragic?

Because Nash will retire soon.

Thus making Dragic the starter

Well, I didn’t say I wanted Harris to start ahead of Dragic.

I’d rather keep Barbosa, honestly. I think Harris is a bit over hyped. He can’t play defense either. I think from now on we should just get players who can play defense.

by Beavis 25 on Mar 21, 2010 8:06 PM MDT up reply actions

Are you sure? I’ve heard that Harris is a good defender.

Agreed...I'd rather have Barbs over Harris

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

This topic has been posted, but I’m not complaining about seeing it again. I still want the Suns to face the Lakers in the first round, because someone has to take the Lakers out, and I figure that it will be easier in the first round.

LMAO!!!!

i love my suns as much as the next person but if you truly see us beating the lakers in any round of the play-offs then you sir are really smoking something from uranus..As far as the play-off push goes that win over the jazz the other night should really help our physche alot bc we all already knew we could beat them we just had mental lapses the 1ST 2 games..Now i feel we need to beat the blazers to show that we can play wit and even defeat every team in the western conference..As long as robin shows up game in and game out along with Nash and Amare we are a hard team to beat. Our bench is as good as anyone in the NBA and could really be the best if LB returns to LB form we could be damn near unbeatable especially if this new found defensive play continues.

I would also like to bring up how the Hawks and Celtics are considered Championship contenders when they have a similar record to us and they play in a easier conference.

We have to either beat the Lakers or rely on someone else to.

Great comment here, I love it and it is true ! :
Our bench is as good as anyone in the NBA (.)

Here, here. I in fact think it is the best. It’s one of the main reasons I have confidence about our chances in the playoffs !
