Robin Lopez Out Two Weeks After Seeing Specialist
The Phoenix Suns just released the following information about Robin Lopez who didn't travel with the team after learning Saturday morning that he has two bulging disks in his back:
After being seen today by specialist Dr. Christopher Huston of The Orthopedic Clinic Association (TOCA) in Phoenix, it was determined that center Robin Lopez will undergo a conservative treatment of medication, rest and rehabilitation on his injured back. Lopez will then be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Well, at least it isn't surgery. Two weeks puts him back on April 11th, a couple of games before the playoffs start but of course if only say he would be re-evaluated then so that's not promising.
But you never know, maybe he will respond well to treatment and be back in time for the first round. Without Robin, the Suns chances of a playoff win go down considerably.

Well, this sucks. I hope he heals soon and can come back for the playoffs.
Against the Lakers where Robin was non-existent and Channing was absent Lou really stepped up and allowed us to compete with them. We will really need Lou and Channing now. Also, its a good thing that we traded Tucker, so we could keep Collins. That guy has stepped up and played well every time he’s been called on.
I have a feeling he’s out for the year. Not great … broken foot and back issues in his first real season.
It’s always tough to find good athletic centers. I feel bad for Robin, but he’s not the only one. Bynum, Oden, Ming… I always thought he looked injury prone.
I still have faith that we can win a playoff series. The OKC and Nuggets are still very beatable teams in a 7 game series for us even without Robin. We still have a shot against Utah as well because they can’t guard Amar’e.
Remember when JJ got hurt in the playoffs and Jim Jackson stepped up big time and scored like 25 in two games? What if Collins stepped up and played tough defense and rebounded the ball well?
...he didn't

Yea he did. He scored like over 20 in one of the games at least. In fact he played so well in that series that Mike started him over Q when JJ got back.
Trevor might have been referring to Collins
that Collins didn’t make an impact in tonights game

Robin's posture
always puzzled me…well, bulging disks still isn’t that bad

his posture doesn't seem any different than Duncan
who also slouches.
Maybe this will force Lopez to get in great shape and come back next year with a totally improved body

well
amare, hill, and nash are maybe the 3 best players on the team. But Lopez is just as valuable. He was filling a big weakness and helping enable amare to play more of the forward position instead of center. Tough break. If he can come back and play well, we should be ok, but this is very tough news!!
yeah, cool huh?

What does this do to the starting line-up?
Either Channing gets moved up to the starting spot, or Amare is moved to center and either Grant or Lou are put in as power forward. Personally I would prefer the former, but that would weaken our secondary.
