No doubt the Nuggets...

Of all the current playoff teams, this is the one that the Suns matchup to the best….After that it would probably be Portland. Teams we definitely don’t want to face first is LA (Too Big, too long and too quick on the perimeters..); Dallas (Since the acquisistion of Haywood & Butler, Dallas is looking a lot like LA): San Antonio (Not sure why as we are a better team..guess they just wear out our collective psyche…)

Wouldn't mind

facing the Thunder and the Mavs too.

The Thunder are so young, which is why they are under .500 against winning teams. They are like Portland was. Talented, dangerous, and ripe for a playoff series loss.

The Mavs would also be okay to face. Suns always play them tough, and the Mavs are breaking records for their string of close wins. Eventually, that evens itself out. It really does. Statistically, even the best teams EVER are 50/50 on 1-point or 2-point wins.

I would really NOT want to face the Jazz or the Lakers.

Agreed

Portland would be a nice opponent. mainly because that means we got the 2 seed, and won’t the Lakers till the WCF. I dont see Portland getting higher than 7 seed.

The Suns can't get a two seed

unless they win the division

really?

I thought the best non-division winning record could be higher than 4th

actually, the Lakers

I expect to be called an idiot for this, but I would like the Suns to meet the Lakers in the first round. Why? Because if they want to win a championship (many of us think they can’t this year, but are they supposed to believe that?), they will have go get through the Lakers unless someone else upsets them (which I think is possible with this Lakers group). If that’s the case, the Lakers will be less fired up, less motivated in the first round than they would be in the conference finals. This goes for all Western playoff teams, really. So they might as well get down to it right away—taking their shot at upsetting the Lakers.

The converse of my idea is that if they made it to the conference finals against the Lakers, perhaps the Suns would be the ones really motivated, not the Lakers. It could happen—the Lakers have gotten lazy and arrogant before.

how come almost nobody wants the Mavericks?

Are we supposed to be particularly afraid of facing Dallas?

by 8472species on Mar 4, 2010 3:48 PM MST up reply actions

Robin is not ready with Haywood and Kidd has been outplaying Nash at critical games

Dirk and Amare will cancel each other.

Dragic against Barea

Can GH and JRich proven talents like Butler, Terry and Dampier (if they heal in time)?

Dallas are a physical team with their line-up.

Spurs

Bring on the Spurs. It’s time for US to put THEM out of the playoffs. I bet if we can do it two or three years in a row we can get Pop fired!
