Suns are playing insane offense right now.
They either need to tighten up their D or continue to shoot the lights out.

I actually think the problem is turnovers and letting the Jazz kill us on the offensive glass...Hard to win like that

We are
Going a LITTLE crazy…Dragic is good but Rondo is a second-tier superstar. He’s like the reincarnation of Jason Kidd but far more athletic.

Crazy schedule note.
This is the Suns’ 64th game of the year tonight. No other team in the NBA has played more than 62, and a handful has played as few as 58.
In other words, the old guys are going to get a bit more of a breather down the stretch.
NO...I ACTUALLY FIND IT HARD TO WATCH OTHER TEAMS THAT NOT THE SUNS
I used to enjoy watching lots of different teams when I was younger
Gaines = Buzz Kill
Nash and Hill looking great for a B2B game.
The Suns - Never fails to disappoint 53% of the time, all the time.
I cannot remeber a team giving up so many buzzer beaters...
Either we are extremely unlucky or there is a fundamental flaw somewhere…

Bogut is pretty underrated, Gasol is pretty close to his ceiling in my opinion, but Rolo is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Amare is not asking for Max. 12 mil for 2 years is an insult
15-17 for 3 years after next year is fair.
just remember
that “3 years” is really “4 years” b/c is kicks in after the final year of his current contract which he would no opt-out of.

right
I get that. But Amare won’t sign for just 2 extra (3 total). And the Suns dont want to got 5 (or 6 total).
I think a compromise at 3yr extension (4 total) is good for both sides. He really is a unique talent.
(this stance is predicated on the expectation that we won’t get bowled over with a trade offer. If we DO, then go ahead and trade)
yup...
I am ignoring this until the season is over for the most part :)

What would each team's fortunes be...
If Boozer played for the Suns and Amare played for the Jazz….
Thoughts anyone?
Would we still have Marion? Would we have built a different team…Would the Jazz have won a championship? Would Amare’s career be different without the training staff of Phoenix?
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
and I mean since the 2004-05 Season when Boozer signed with Utah
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
But...
Marion left BECAUSE of Amare prettty much…Who’s to say Boozer and him didn’t mesh better and he stayed? playing with Steve Nash cures a lot of chemistry problems and I just don’t think Boozer can be as bad as everyone says after playing with Sloan all of these years pretty much blemish free.

It's not the past
It’s a hypothetical. If two players who have similar numbers but different styles of played on different teams. Why do we even have history class? Ah, the civil war who cares IT WAS IN THE PAST. Ahhh, no one learns from the past silly.

That is
something that had no chance of happening….Just interesting…Two players on contract years heading into free agency who had similar careers and similar things said about them…I wasn’t trying to respark trade talks, contract extensions or anything like that.
Someone brought up the fact earlier how do you think Charlotte felt about giving up Kobe for nothing and no one freaked out over that. Just move on and read another post if you don’t feel like contributing to it.

I know
He handled very well at Louisville and maybe he would at the D-League but this is an important game…Probably one of our most important of the year and I just don’t think he has adjusted to the “speed” of the NBA yet..his defense is spot on though, his length really bothers whoever he is defending.

we've had the exact same lead this whole game
and consistency isn’t exactly our middle name. Will this be a game to break the mold for us? This would be a completely unusual game for us if we kept this lead.

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

Play Robin!!!
We all want to fall in love. Why? Because that experience makes us feel completely alive, where every sense is heightened, and every emotion is magnified. Our everyday reality is shattered and we are flying into the heavens. It may only last a moment, an hour, or an afternoon, but that doesn't diminish its value, because we are left with memoriesthat we treasure for the rest of our lives.
Robin needs to come in. Having both him and AMare to score in the paint puts a lot of pressure on the Jazz.

What's with the Suns blowing leads?

We blew a 11 point 4th quarter lead

well I think that's it
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto.
STUPID!

See ya everyone nice game even though we lost

Painful loss.
That hurts alot. That really does. We could all see it coming but we were helpless to do anything about it.
Wow what an ending
Kirilenko on the opposite end if the lane grabs the offensive rebound
Steve Nash plays D!!
fun thread

It is our 4rth game on the 5th night without Dragic and Barbs, but I don’t know. We still have two more games vrs the Jazz, so this loss means we have to win the next two games vrs them if we want to get the better seed.
hey look at it this way
we were unlikely to sweep the jazz twice in 2 weeks (we get them again week after next). So now we got the loss out of the way.
Read the sig.
hwow… part of me just died a little.
The Suns - Never fails to disappoint 53% of the time, all the time.
Phoenix Suns
Basketball to a TEE….Hey we beat Denver now we get to play Indiana…have a few off days, get nice and healed….Get our asses kicked by the Lakers…Play The Hornets and Wolves which should be two easy ones then get a shot at Denver again…Difference between fourth and fifth seed isn’t that much…We played them at home and lost just like we dropped the game on the road.

If it makes anyone feel better
My brother just took responsibility for the whole thing on Facebook.

We couldn’t get a defensive stop when we needed it. Amare had a nice block, but we couldn’t get the rebound.
We also
make average players into heros…Of course, TNT shows that STAT on Okur and he promptly hits a three. How many more TNT games do we have this year? I HATE watching Phoenix Suns basketball on damn TNT.

Do we not deserve criticism for this loss?

We did
our fair share of blowing without Charles. let’s not take out our frustrations on Chuck now…He wasn’t alone on that team.

No Dragic, No Win.
I honestly think that had we had Dragic tonight, we could have won.

I thought we had that one too.
Bummer.
Well, onto the next game I s’pose.

Where we play to our
Opponent which is a bad Indiana team and probably barely scrap out a win. I’m predicting now that Troy Murphy has 20 rebounds in that game and TJ Ford goes off for thirty.

I keep forgetting the Pacers exist
Which is sad, because I really liked those Jermaine O’Neal/Ron Artest Pacers.

As am I.
Even though we lost, and Amare is probably who we all think he will be in the next few years, I still want to see him in Suns uniform.
Unless somehow losing him means we get Josh Smith. Then I don’t even care about Amare. Haha.

This is what happens when you play your 4th game in 5 nights, and the other team is rested..
We just ran out of steam, and you can’t defend if you’re tired.
You can blame Alvin, a little, for not playing Earl more in the 1st & 2nd, and not playing Collins, to give our starters more rest, especially since we didn’t have Goran or LB.
But truth be told, this is one of those games that the NBA head offices gimmes to a team. Nothing more.

True..
but I really thought this team turned a corner…Thought all of those big lead dropping days were behind us. We dominated Denver through and through…It’s alright though, we get like five days off after Indiana and get to get our asses handed to us by the Lakers, get two easy ones in Minnesota and N.O. then get a shot at Utah again. This time with Dragic and who knows maybe Barbosa too.

So did I. I wonder if this was just a gimmi?
Would anyone change there thoughts about the Suns if we beat LA.
Obviously...
but whenever we play the Lakers I go into the game fully expecting to lose so if we do it’s not big deal.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
Absolutely not.
The Suns are forever going to be the team that “got lucky” or “won’t win in a 7-game series”.

Unless you're meaning "anyone" as in "Suns fans".
Then, yeah, probably.
But if you mean “anyone” as in “media/basketball ‘experts’”, no.

Lakers are not so dominant, right now.
I don’t fear them, and if we beat them next week, if won’t say much either way.
The only teams I’m concerned about are Cleveland, who look mighty, and the Spurs.
"True glory consists of doing what deserves to be written, and writing what deserves to be read".
by Pliny the Elder on Mar 4, 2010 11:48 PM MST up reply actions
The Spurs are no suprise. I’m not sure we could take Cleveland seeing how we don’t have Marion anymore who could gaurd Lebron.
Our remaining schedule
in March is 11 games. Outside of LA, Portland, and Utah it’s a really, really easy schedule…Not even questionable games outside of maybe New Orleans…We can totally finish this month 8-3, maybe even 9-2 and forget ALL about this….Although the Jazz have just of easy of a schedule with the only tough games being OKC and Boston.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
True, he bailed them out many times.
Concering our team. They look like they can compete if they try really hard(crash the boards and play defense). Are they contenders or not?
Exactly.
You know, if we will never get a real big man that can help us rebound than we need a Dennis Rodman.
We should
of made a crappy offer for Noah back when he was sucking, full of ego and when Skiles hated him…Imagine having him collecting 20 boards a game for us now…
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
Lopez
will develop into a better offensive player and I think already probably is better offensively….Noah has a little more energy, a little more athletic but had some ego issues earlier in his career..Then again it was probably a rouse just to get Scott Skiles gone.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
God...
That is tough…can we wait another two years and see? at this point I would take Noah since he is like top-3 rebounder in the league.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
I believe he could make us contender. He’s tough, fights for boards and plays good d. Lopez is still learning, but gosh, imagine Amare and Noah together?
I thought you didn't like talking about the past?
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
haha I don't
when it involves re-thinking the past and making it all rosy. I was just pointing out that Noah was never available, for all the reasons the poster above wanted him.
Well..
Hill and Nash will be another year older…Depends on what we can trade J-Rich’s expiring deal for next year…
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
Just
let Nash play his remaining years out…We’re going to have mega cap space either way heading into next offseason…I mean MEGA cap space. We are getting Nash for such a value anyways….Only way I would deal him if what happened in New Jersey happened where kidd got swapped for Harris.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
yeah that worked out
real well for the Nets. ;)
I say we can’t do any better than Nash till his contract runs out.
What if...
We don’t resign Amare? Do you think he would let us do a sign and trade…Maybe do a sign and trade with New york….wait…I’m not going to get sucked into Amare trade talk again. I’m still have hope for this year!
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley
That's so hard
to even answer….We don’t even know where our franchise player or GM is going to be next year….let alone in 10 years…I DVRed abunch of shows I missed during the Suns game so I’m jumping out. Later guys.
"I don't care what people think, people are stupid."-Charles Barkley

they played better without him..
sorry, but it’s true.

The Lakers were scary good vs San Antonio, without Kobe or Bynum
I saw that game, and LA played beautifully, and in complete rhythm, sharing the ball.
It was probably the best display of team ball I’ve seen all year.

Dallas doesn’t scare me. We only lost that last game to them because we uncharacteristically missed a whole lot of open threes.
kinda like tonight
we were 5-19 or something and they went 12-24 (and they only average 5 game at 35%)
Free throws and turnovers killed us.
I’ll say this in our favor, though… If the Jazz had played last night, and traveled to Phoenix, we’d have beaten them.
We were on cruise control until the last 8 minutes, and then ran out of gas.
