First off, I've never posted anything here; I've just been a quiet lurker and occasional commenter, so this will be my first FanPost. So, hi.
So I'm not sure if anyone here has already realized this, or already brought it up, but a friend of mine pointed this out to me the other day, and I thought it was kind of cool.
The Phoenix Suns made it to the NBA finals for the first time in 1976. They lost.
The Phoenix Suns made it to the NBA finals again 17 years later, in 1993. They lost.
Now, in 2010, yet another 17 years later, the Phoenix Suns once again have a shot at making the NBA finals.
Third time's a charm?!?
Now I don't really believe in "destiny," or anything of that deterministic nonsense, but hey, if there is a such thing, perhaps this is it. And if this really is some sort of 17 year rule (or curse you might say) that the Suns have, and we do make it to the finals this year, then we better capitalize, because I don't want to wait nearly another 2 decades to see the Suns do this well again. And perhaps all we need is a championship to break free of this potential 17 year cycle.
