The NBA is halfway to achieving the heavily desired Lakers-Celtics matchup that the media is after. Steve Nash has guaranteed a Game 6 victory. Who are we to doubt the Maestro? However, I still worry about what might happen because it's happened before and conspiracy theories within the NBA wouldn't exist if things didn't occur that appear to be in favor of certain teams and players. However....
As a diehard Suns fan, I expect a Suns and Celtics NBA Finals matchup. Forget the doubts and all that bull. I can honestly envision Steve Nash & Co. hoisting up that Western Conference championship trophy and heading on to face the 2008 champs for a shot at the Larry O'Brien trophy. I stuck with this team through all the letdowns they went through last season and never once jumped ship. The Suns have made it this far and the Cinderella story has NOT reached its end.
Kobe has grabbed 4 championships. A lot of legends go through their entire careers without a single ring so having 4 is a blessing, not an underachievement. I know you're hungry Kobe, but no need to be greedy.
Steve Nash and Grant Hill have yet to even lick a championship. You can see the desire in both our savvy veterans' eyes. They know they're near and they both want it. This is their best shot. Who knows what will happen next season?
So enough of the White and Green facing the Gold and Purple. We've seen enough of that. Orange and Purple vs. White and Green. That's where it's at. Show your support. When I turn on TNT Saturday night to watch the game from my apartment in the Bay Area, CA, I expect to hear a fired up crowd with cheers of "We Want Boston!". Now's the time. Put your hands up. The Sun will rise in Phoenix.
