NBA Playoff Nightcap: May 7th Edition

Didn't want to post another picture of just Dwight Howard. So...two former Suns instead (Photo by Doug Benc/Getty Images)

Enough of these 1 game days.  Last night brought us only the extremely anti-competitive Magic-Hawks Game 2 so I might as well not be writing this post at all.  Thus in lieu of boring you to tears I'll keep this relatively short and just tag a poll about Jarron Collins onto it.  Because if I know one thing, it's that everyone loves a good poll about Jarron Collins.

Thursday May 6th Playoff Results:

Orlando Magic 112 Atlanta Hawks 98 (Recap)Did anybody watch this game?  No seriously, did anyone finish work yesterday and say to themselves, hell Magic-Hawks is on...I got to get me some of that.  You didn't.  Don't lie to me.  As for the actual game - hey at least the Hawks didn't lose by 43 this time.  Atlanta actually led by 8 points at half yet unfortunately for the ATL there is a second half - and it was one controlled by Orlando.  The Magicians used an 11-2 run in the third quarter to take a lead (they would lead by one going into the fourth) and a 19-2 run in the fourth quarter to dispatch Atlanta.  Dwight Howard dominated again for Orlando scoring 29 points and grabbing 17 rebounds while being one of four Magicians that scored 20+ points - the others being Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, and Rashard Lewis (Anthony Avent fell just a little short).  Atlanta was led by Al Horford's 24 points but certainly not aided by Joe Johnson shooting 5/16 and Mike Bibby again having a foot in the grave (3 points, and only 5 total for the series in 33 combined minutes).  Now on to what you really wanted to know about - Jason Collins scored 2 points in his 1 minute of play and now holds a 4-0 edge over his brother Jarron Collins in Conference Semifinals scoring.

Conference Semifinals Series Standings:

(1) Lakers v. (5) Jazz: 2-0 Lakers

(3) Suns v. (7) Spurs:  2-0 Suns

(1) Cavaliers v. (4) Celtics:  1-1 tie

(2) Magic v. (3) Hawks: 2-0 Magic

Friday May 7th Playoff Game:

Game 3 - Cavaliers @ Celtics: Elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow.  After Boston stole home court advantage with a Game 2 win, this series is entering a pivotal Game 3.  Will LeBron and the Cavs be able to elbow out a victory in Game elbow?  Only elbow will elbow!

Game 3 - Suns @ Spurs: Won't be the end of the world if the Suns don't win this game but hey if you need a split in San Antonio to keep the pressure on the Spurs, you might as well do it in the first attempt...right?
