Amare Asks, 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now'
In the latest bit of Amare twitter genius, the big guy asks for your input:
I think about Free Agency Everyday. Should I Stay in Phoenix or should I leave? This the question of the Summer. What do you guys think?
Which got me thinking. As the biggest online Suns community, we have a duty to step up to the plate and put on a full-blown fan campaign to influence the outcome of the biggest decision the Suns and Amare will make.
The People Will Be Heard!
But there's not much time. We have between now and July 1 to raise a ruckus.
Step 1 - Are you down for some ruckus raising in order to keep Amare with the Suns?

If he leaves there will be trouble.
But if he stays there may be double.

Amare is our guy, but if he doesn't stay
I think we should seriously consider David Lee, not a replacement for Amare, no one can replace him.

TURRIBLE!
Any possible improvement the Suns make this year will be with the development of the young guys. With the Amare situation the best possible scenario would be for things to stay the same, there really isn’t a possibility of improvement, at least as things look as of now.

I let him know he needs to stay and he’s not going to get closer to a title with another team. He’s following me on twitter so hopefully my tweet has a better chance to be read.

I can't vote in this poll...
Let me say that… I have faith in Kerr and the organization for making a decision that’s good for the franchise, with or without Amar’e.

I agree.
Look at last summer. Who would have thought the moves he made last year and especially over thesummer would have made the impact they did. I now thoroughly trust Kerr’s judgement. He has an interesting way doing things, but he built a winner.

Well then lottery, here we come
No Amar’e, no 50 win season, no playoffs, and we’ll all have an early summer next year. You know what they say….if you don’t vote, then you can’t bitch.
A totally flawed saying.
You can indeed choose not to vote and still bitch all you want. I’ve been doing it all my life.
Furthermore, PHX made it to the WCF without Amare in ‘06, and that team had so little depth that Boris saw time at center.
I trust that Kerr & Co. can find a way to replace Amare’s one rebound per quarter if he leaves.

Leave. Amare.
You ain’t worth the max contract you want. Suns need change/s and so are you. Hill and Nash are crucial to the development of the 2nd unit. Please don’t try to elevate the drama whether you’ll leave or not. Just go.

Seriously
I thought he’d see the backlash Bosh took for doing this on Twitter and know better.
Grant Hill is totally the next MJ!!
Clearly he didn't.
This twitter thing he did is a sign of immaturity. Back then he said he want to be in a championship team. Then he considers Miami, Chicago and New Jersey. Phoenix is the closest he’ll get to that point. He just wants media attention.
Can’t wait for Amare to use the Sprewell money line: "I got mouths to feed.

He did use that line.
Or one very similar to it. He said he needed to think about the future security of his family or some such.
Apparently Bill Simmons didn't like Amare's tweet...

Simmons clearly doesn't hate Bosh though.
God created the earth in 7 days. If Lou Amundson had been doing it, he would have completed it in 4 and then had sex with Eve for the remaining 3.
Does he really want to know what we think?
Or, some mindless drivel begging him to stay?
Yeah, stay if you don’t hobble the team with a $120M contract that pays you for two years at $20M+ at the end of your career when you have arthritic knees and one good eye.
Sign the reasonable and feasible 3 or 4 year deal. Make more per year here for 4 years than you could anywhere else. If you want to win (as you claim to want), give the Suns cap space to surround you.

In a perfect world
We could give him the Tim Duncan treatment: offer him the max, and then he turns it down and asks for a smaller contract so the team have more resource to put good players next to him.
That worked out to be a win-win for the Spurs. They made the good gesture and Duncan came off as the classiest of class (which he is, save for his “what, no foul?!” face).
But sadly, Amar’e is no Tim Duncan. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been haggling over this stuff for so long. Maybe we’d have even won a few ’ships.

Hey, Seth, let me know. I love showing my wife's cooking off.
But she doesn’t speak English all that well, so Amar’e, she is likely to tell you “Game 6, you no play good!”
Auntie Em: Hate you, hate Kansas, taking the dog.

Stay...
As much as I was not impressed with his playoff performance this year, I really don’t believe letting him go will resolve any issues. With the chemistry on this team I would like to see Amar’e stay, believing that we have a much better chance of improving next year with him in the lineup. It’s not likely we will get a caliber player like Amar’e if he walks. Just my two cents worth.

Show the man some love
So he put the question out on Twitter. Big deal. Guys ask their buds what they think about changing jobs or girlfriends all the time. So maybe he just wants a temperature check of what the fans think. And since the overwhelming majority of people are voting for him to stay, maybe he’s hoping that helps him feel good about wanting to come back, and puts pressure on the organization to do what they can to bring him back. Look this is still a business. Both sides are looking to profit on this…let’s be real about that. So I don’t blame Amar’e for wanting a raise….who of us doesn’t. But let’s not jump to conclusions that Amar’e is the selfish one here and that the Suns organization is the victim. They BOTH have to be realistic. And if they both are and it doesn’t work, so be it. But remember that the players generally have little control over their own destiny, whereas the organization can move players pretty much as they see fit.
We need to do everything possible to keep Amar’e here, period.

We're gonna need amare
to fight Bosh when he’s on the lakers.
Unless we can trade him for brook lopez somehow.
(note: previous statement is not meant to be plausible, just a pipe dream to battle future lakers and healthy blazers teams. And the Spurs. As well as OKC, and everyone else.)

GOODBYE! DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT!
Absolutely not worth 125 million! I don’t see any championship banner in Phoenix, yet. I don’t think giving a slightly above average player that kind of money will buy one either.
lol at "slightly above average"
all-nba (voted by coaches) at least twice, maybe more.
