Open Thread: Vegas Summer League, Game 4
Suns face the Cavs (without LeBron) in Game 4 of the Summer League.
Scottie Reynolds will play and will come off the bench and share time with Zabian like in Game 3.
The Cavs big name is JJ Hickson. I would imagine we will see Earl get some time on JJ but with Maciej Lampe on the floor as well he split time with Gani there. The Cavs don't have a true, big center in their starting rotation but neither do the Suns.
Pooh Jeeter has played well here and should be a fun match-up with Scottie. Poor Matt Janning will have to deal with another big guy, Christian Eyenga.

The braces didn't do ALL of that....
It looks like he got some porcelain veneers. His teeth were really small and WAY spaced out.
The Phoenix Suns...Where making average players look elite happens.
Let's see what Clark does against a legit talent like Hickson...
This could be the best test to see if he has progressed….
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....!
ZABIAN
Let’s see what Zabian Dowdell does tonight. He is due for a good game.
No Lampe today
looks like he bailed on SL now that he’s sign in Russia. Some big dude named Reiner is starting C for Cleveland

Yea that sucks..I still miss amare in that 32…this is like seeing dragic in joe johnsons old uni..but it worked out great…so I’m staying hopeful…

Gani keeps impressing me more and more.
He needs at least 10 mins per game next year
Must start LB! Oh wait...
Earl Clark looks like he is not into this game at all...
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....!
they are not calling
his number early on the offensive end…probably want to take some pressure off and let him get into the game on the defensive end first…he’s not that bad. Just not getting touches yet. Guessing he will later.

Suns playing a lot slower
today…running the offense through Gani in the post
Raising Arizona Sports at SB Nation Arizona twitter: @sethpo
Can play defense on NBA guards..that is the question...
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....!
on point guards, maybe
but he’s like LB on 2’s….maybe better potentially b/c he’s more athletic and smarter. Can’t guard NBA starting 2’s though

Earl is playing some good defense,
maybe thats what his game plan needs to be, try to be a defensive stopper, what comes at the offensive end is just a bonus.
Slumdog Millionaire without the million.
Reynolds getting robbed by refs
First a charge called a block, then a clean steal called a foul after the other player actually fouled him…
I'm glad Reynolds is showing he's multi-faceted
I heard a lot of people claiming he couldn’t be a true point guard…but watching him his whole career at Villanova, I saw he was more than capable of doing so. The problem was, he was the best scorer they had, so he had to be the one to shoot and drive to the basket most of the time.
Yup...
4 assists in 6 min. I’m seeing it now.

they just leave him wide open and play 5 on 4

Clark should have never went to Miami to workout with Amare
He has zero rebounds!!! Clark should have chosen someone better to workout with.

But he and Dudley went to Miami to workout with Amare. Crap now I scared of what happened to Dudley also.

As the famous quote from Bill Parcell's goes...
“Potential means you ain’t done $&%# yet.”
I think I’m starting to understand what he meant.
Not trying to be overly fan-boyish on Reynolds
But we were keeping pace, and actually doing slightly better than Cleveland while Reynolds was running our offense. Our team scored only three FG’s after Reynolds went out and Dowdell came in, and Cleveland took a big lead.
Earl also is playing pretty badly…Gani Lawal is consistently outperforming him, and he’s a rookie 2nd rounder! Step it up Earl!

Looks like
Bells is signing with Utah. 3 years $10 mil. Good to see Raja get paid and NOT go to the Lakers. Plus he gets to play for Sloan again.
You'd better stop that, it's not being decided by that. It's being decided by two Phoenix Suns who knew about the rule, forgot about it, couldn't control themselves, and didn't have coaches that could control them. And don't you forget it.

Gani Lawal is about the only Bright spot...
Keep Scopttie reynolds out there..Summer Suns look 100% better with him in there than Dowdell…
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....!
Dont forget Janning!
I agree with Reynolds…He’s showing the completely opposite side of his game today than he did in game 3. Instead of scoring he is racking up the assists today. Our offense works much better with him on the court.
Defending Clark against trade suggestions here in BSOTS are gonna get tougher after this Summer League

I know this is a bit too much but...
Reynolds looks a bit like a young nash ;) : good shot, good court vision, not so good defense.
He's actually pretty good at staying in frontof him man...
Very quick and agile..But becasue of his size they are still able to score over him more than usual.
I like what i saw,
good game.
Reynolds, janning and lawal were really good.
Clark should drink some coffeine before the games.
Clark, Scottie, Gani
Greeting fellow Suns fans… I come in peace… hahaha, jk.
About the game…
lux200- I was actually thinking the same thing about Reynolds… it is way too early, but this should be a keeper…
speaking of which, Gani looks GOOD… obviously… future pf??? quite possibly.
on Earl… oh Earl… I don’t think think he has the “IT” (or even the IQ) that you need to have to play in the NBA… i.e. Dudley has IT.
Speaking of Duds… If he gets traded, especially over Clark, I will be mad (unless we get something GREAT back)… Otherwise, I think Dudley should get locked up asap.
That’s it for my 1st post… And I’m glad to finally get on here, and look forward to future discussions!
Peacefully sincere,
Suns13fan

Yes, in 2-3 years our future team will be-
PG Dragic, Reynolds
SG Childress
SF Turk/Dudley
PF Lawal/Warrick
C Lopez/Frye
I think that will be a pretty good team in 2 years, but that’s just me dreaming.
Don't trade Dudley!
that does look pretty good...
i am wondering if we could get j rich to re-up for a little cheaper (or a lot, hahaha) then what he is making right now… I think adding him at SG to that list would look REAL good…
On J-Rich: I don’t know why people want to possibly trade him… I know he has an expiring contract and is making more money than he needs to, but he is a damn good 2, and a great fit for the suns… plus, with talk (however warranted)about how we barely have post players (only Lopez), I think people are forgetting how J-Rich is a pretty damn good post player (for our “Future Suns Roster Discussion”, we could say, as of now, that Lawal will be a good post player also)… Anyways, I’d like to see both him and Duds with the Suns in the future… But, we shall see… It has been an interesting off-season, to say the least.
Good stuff Beavis… hahaha
Peacefully sincere,
Suns13fan
We are considering trading him because the possibility of Reynolds being able to play now and his expiring contract have made him expendable. Plus, we really need a PF/C that can rebound and defend or even post up.
Don't trade Dudley!
i don't think he is expendable tho...
cuz although I want Reynolds on the Suns, I don’t think a 6’3’’ basically PG makes a 6’6’’ SG expendable… looking at the future, we don’t have any SG’s other than chilly (hahaha)… J-Rich is still young and good…
I just hope the Suns don’t get too crazy and trade away J-Rich and Dudley for people who: a) won’t bring the same energy/ skill-set as those guys, and b) don’t fit the suns system (i.e. Al Jefferson aka a younger Shaq; and although I loved having the Shaqtus, he didn’t fit our system)… We have been undersized before, and although every one keeps saying “Yeah, well we haven’t won a championship either”, we have been extremely close; one or two plays away, an un-necessary suspension, and an ill-timed injury CLOSE…
However, I agree… We could use some good size, but I don’t see how we are going to give another big man any minutes with Frye and Lopez as our centers (and pretty good ones at that)… It’s be nice to have a rebounding 4, but we’ve done pretty well without one all these years… we just have to rebound by committee, and hope that Frye and Lopez and the other 4s, and possibly even Chilly, go and get some boards (sweet-LOUUUUU style… hahaha)
Peacefully sincere,
Suns13fan
i say...
bring back Jaron Collins if possible, so that we have a back-up, back-up big man…
and hopefully don’t trade J-Rich (unless we get better) or Duds (like your signature states)… speaking of that, *we should make some sort of campaign about not trading duds*
Peacefully sincere,
Suns13fan
I think Reynolds is a keeper. Sign him and Lawal and send them to the D-league. They won’t get any playing time this year, but I’m sure they will next season when Grant Hill retires and J-Rich’s contract expires.
Don't trade Dudley!
