Shopping the Bargain Bins with Robert Sarver

It's no secret that Suns' owner Robert Sarver has been known to pinch a few pennies. Amare Stoudemire is the 2nd All-Star caliber player that Sarver has let walk away from the team in free agency; Joe Johnson being the other.

However, he's also footed the bill for some hefty contracts (Nash, Marion, Diaw, Stoudemire's 1st contract), increased the Suns' overall $$ spent on personnel, and greenlighted more than 1 franchise-changing trade.

So, is there a method to all this madness? I think there is...

I believe Robert Sarver's decisions all come down to one basic factor... value for the dollar. The man just loves a good bargain.

For us fans, this is maddening. One moment he's willing to shell out some $$ for a solid if not spectacular talent like Barbosa or Diaw. The next, he's unwilling to open his wallet for an Amare Stoudemire, or trade a team-leader like Kurt Thomas for $3M dollars and a bag of used basketballs. All based on whether or not he's getting a good deal on the contract.

So, with that in mind... what players are out there who could be had for a bargain? Or who has a bargain-contracts that could feasibly be traded for...say, Leandro Barbosa?
