enthusiastic admirer: an enthusiastic admirer of a celebrity or public performer
Same as fanaticn (sense 2)
[Late 19th century. Shortening of fanatic]
Last night, I found myself thinking about something, trying to search the truth. Am I really a Suns fan? Or am I just a stupid guy that loves the color of orange? Or just a fan of its current roster?
How will I know if I am really a Suns fan? Or a fan of its player?
There are possible explanation to this.
1. You are a Suns fan, whatever happens. X years from now, you will still be a fan no matter what.
2. You are a fan of a player and if the player changes his team, you will not care for the Suns. And you will be a fan of the player’s new team.
3. You are a fan of a player and if the player changes his team, you will still care for the Suns and make it your 2nd team.
4. Maybe its complicated, that you are a fan now but tomorrow your not.
I will fall on the 3rd category. I am a huge fan of Grant Hill. My favorite team before is Orlando Magic, but when he signed to Phoenix, Yihaaah..! I became a Suns fan. But I still find myself still rooting for Magic. And if he retires or if he was given a chance of another team, say Bulls, then my team will be Bulls, and 2nd team will be Phoenix.
But currently, 2 of my 3 (Durant, Dragic and Hill) fave player is a Sun, I think I will still be a fan of Phoenix unless Dragic got traded or signed by another team.
If you scan all the threads and blogs here on BSOTS you will find a lot of great person like you. But I will ask you, Are you really a Suns fan?
