Okay, this is way off topic and may have no correlation to the Suns at all, but it's still worth discussing IMO.
Yesterday, after only the SECOND game of the season, new New York Giants starting safety and former AZ Cardinal Antrell Rolle just went off - and I mean OFF - on everyone but himself on a radio show.
Click this link for the story. Unbelievable! He took no accountability for himself, but he had plenty to say about everyone and everything else. And this from a guy that I can't remember ever spouting off in Phoenix in 4 years playing for the Cardinals.
Has he incurred brain damage? Or is the New York media a little better at provoking the players into good sound bites?
As I was reading this article, two words repeated themselves over and over in my head:
I am of the belief that Amare, at some point this season, will become a victim of the New York media, who are not quite as kind and forgiving as Phoenix media. I mean, how much nicer can you get than Seth Pollack and Paul Coro (azcentral.com/az republic)?
What will happen when Amare is taking all the questions for the 15th or 20th straight game and only a few of those have been convincing wins?
It's one thing to be "one of many voices" after Nash and Hill, and even Dudley, have taken their turns. It's quite another to be the main man.
We've been worried about the media turning on Amare, with his lack of defense and frustratingly low rebound totals in big games. But what happens when the media tries to bait Amare into throwing D'Antoni or his teammates under the bus?
