Suns/Kings Thoughts
*Ugly, ugly loss. The D has been much better since they made changes to the D, but they can't get lazy like that in the 4th or even the freaking Kings can beat'em.
*How did Vince Carter let Casspi open for that game-winning three? Was there a screen? Replay didn't really show, but I think a decent chunk of this loss has to fall on Vince's shoulders.
*The two biggest weaknesses are the defense and the rebounding. The D was definitely better tonight exhibited by the Kings only shooting 40%. But the Kings had SIXTY rebounds. Sixty rebounds. Like 6-0.
*Hey Goran Dragic, a 13 year old boy called. He wants his facial hair back.
*Watching Gortat play defend the paint in a Suns uniform is surreal, like I'm in a midday fantasy.
*In Vince's first game as a Sun, he was 1/6 for 3's. Since, he's 6/13.
*Looking forward to seeing the Suns match up against the Lakers with Gortat in our line-up.

This loss does not fall on Vince at all. It falls on the entire team for getting owned on the boards all night long. This game should have been a HUGE blowout by halftime and then Dragic should have made us all sweat for the last two quarters. Instead the Suns get out rebounded by a margin of 28…that’s 60 to 32 if you’re keeping tabs…that’s embarrassing. Gortat is playing his heart out, but everyone else seems to be going through the motions.
All I can say is that we better wake up tomorrow to a bunch of hoopshype rumors about how the Suns are looking for a legit PF who can rebound.
Gortat did play his heart out
And I truly enjoy watching him play.
And there’s plenty of blame to go around. Frey can’t have off games like that. He was 1-7 and had only 2 rebounds in 18min. Dudley was 2-9. Suns were -13 when Dragic was in.
But what about that game-winning shot? Why wasn’t Vince on his man? How do you let their best 3 point shooter that wide open at the beginning of a play?
Cousins
Vince was on the weak side trying to help out to make sure that Cousins didn’t get a clean catch again. It was the right idea, he was just a half second slow coming out to run off Casspi and Omar made a good shot. i’m ok with the way that all went down.
Eh
I’m not okay with leaving a three point shooter open like that, especially with that little time remaining. Going down three was much worse than two.
So I think it was a defensive lapse, but again, he didn’t blow the whole game or anything. Like you said, it should’ve been a blow out.

ya
but it wasn’t like it was a wide open three. Vince was there and a hand was up, it was just late. I’d much rather have that three point look than to have the best player on the floor get a clean catch 7-10 feet away, even if Gortat had been owning him down there. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

How about the Suns getting out-rebounded 32-60 and making 7-27 threes? How about Gentry starting a sf instead of Frye?
Don't trade Dudley!

when pushing them down a flight of stairs.
7-27 threes happens, I'm not worried about that
As for Pietrus starting over Frye, I’d be okay with that if Frye was getting 36 minutes, but he only got 20, and Lopez only saw 12. So we basically played without a PF for 28 minutes. Hence the rebounding disparity.
The defense was hit or miss tonight, but I can’t complain about 95 points. Scoring only 89… that’s a cause for concern.
Trade Warrick!!!

Shouldn't all these comments be on the recap thread?
