Who's your Phoenix Suns least favorite player of all-time?
Anyone that thinks Vince Carter is this team's only problem needs to get laughed at. But he is probably my least favorite Phoenix Sun of all-time.
This sentence of Scott Howard has made me think that this was a good time to write a fanpost.
A rosterbation idea? No. It’s really more fun, at least I think so.
This is to say who is your Phoenix Suns least favorite player of all-time, or at least you know.
My choice: Nikoloz Tskitishvili:
He played for the Suns in the 2005-2006 season, only a few games. He was a high draft pick and although he didn’t succeed in any team, I thought he would be a good asset for the Suns; tall, fast, decent shooter.... But the reality is that he was a bluf (Spanish expression) that means more or less "Person or thing covered with a prestige that is revealed later unfounded"
Who's yours?

Barkley
Mainly for his defensive lapse in Game 6. Go check the video.
Maybe Starbury. Was there ever a more useless person put on the Suns’ jersey?
I don’t think it’s fair to pick on Nikoli-whatever because dislike has to be bred of some expectation or something. Guy never had a chance. Why not pick Jake Suck-alidis, then?
Mmmmm ... Guinness
Agreed with JSun.
I think expectation, salary, and attitude need to be part of it. Poor Nikoli is like someone picking T-Griff. Was he awful? Surely. Did he deserve to be in an NBA uniform? Absolutely not. But he affected nothing.

Sam was a winner, just look at all the other teams he was on, all contenders with him on it, and he couldn’t get his Suns jersey off fast enough.

I never liked Rex Chapman.
I will definitely get some angry notes on this, but I just felt like all he did was shoot and miss threes.
Now, before you go yelling at me, I was only a pre-teen when he played for the Suns so don’t think my disliking holds any fully logical anti-sentiment. But I stick by my young self’s belief.

no questions ask.
Two other players I do not hate just the way they were involved with the Suns.
Richard Dumas, who had all the talent in the world and blew it.
Rich Robey who the Suns acquired for Dennis Johnson. ouch.
See depends on the criteria if you're going for Horry
Horry had the towel incident when he was here but besides that he was almost entirely unmemorable (I don’t think that many people even recall the towel incident). He became hated after he left.

Didn't Ainge
replace Horry from the game? . I know it was in Boston, but as far as the reason for Horry to act like a punk I am not sure. Whatever the explanation it still was bush league on Horry’s part. Looking at the boxscore, he was 1 of 4 with 4 turnovers.
They then moved him 5 days later to LA and the Suns got Ceballos, a win for the Suns
Yea Horry was pissed about being yanked
And it was in Boston. Unfortunately Ced had already peaked by that time.

Against Utah during the lockout season, when Malone broke his nose and split his lip with an elbow, my man Joe Kleine walked all the way across the court to Malone with his bloodied face and angrily shoved the douchebag, leaving a bloody handprint on his jersey. Malone just stood there with a prick look on his face like he always did.
Besides, Joe was just a backup C. He was never overpaid and didn’t really fail to meet anyone’s expectations.

I don’t remember that situation at all, but I did like the season when they had both Kleine and Danny Schayes, and Westphal jokingly referred to them as “Schleine”. Moral of the story: when Danny Schayes is the less crappy of your two options at center, you’re prone to making a desperation move like trading Dan Majerle for Hot Rod Williams.

because KJ was known for signing way more then any other Sun. At the games at Veteran’s Memorial he was the only player you could count on to sign for everybody despite being the most popular. I had nearly my whole autograph collection stolen, but some KJs survived because I had so many.
I’m sure he’d be glad to sign your Cons now if you send them to the Mayor’s office in Sactown.

While I can see there are always times athletes act dickish...
KJ was always great to me. When they practiced at the JCC [before it moved to scottsdale], I was always in the gym. Everytime he was there, he took time out to play one-on-one with me, to help me with my game. He was always friendly and went out of his way for me on more than one occasion. So, while I feel bad for you about your experience, certainly that one incident shouldn’t paint the portrait of the man.
The guy that usually was a jerk was Eddie Johnson. While I think he is actually doing a pretty good job doing games for the Suns, I am not a fan personally.
I am sure he was
but I interacted with him as a teenager many times, and as a coach while his son played at Brophy, and he never was particularly nice. He doesn’t know me and I don’t know him, just never got a great vibe from him, that’s all. He may well be a good guy, just was a jerk most of the time.

Neal Walk :(
And it’s not even his fault…
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."
I was upset
that the coin flipped was lost to the Milwakee Bucks ( even though the Suns had more losses the previous year) and Bucks draft Alcinder.
However no fault of Walks. He is confined to a wheelchair due to a tumor in his back. And has done good work for wheel chair athletes.
oh geez now that makes me feel like a jerk :(

Jason Kidd
I never liked his game, and he’s an awful person. I stopped watching the Suns toward the end of his stint here.
My dishonorable mentions: Danny Ainge (just because he slacked off on Paxson), Boris Diaw (to quote Charles Barkley after he passed on an open shot: “Shoot the ball, son!”), and—of course—Robert Horry.
You can't be pissed at Ainge for collapsing in on Jordan
The entire flipping team did, thats why Paxson was so open. No one person, or two for that matter could stop Jordan.
Although I didn’t like Ainge’s cry baby face when he didn’t get a call, it was worse than Timmie’s.

I am not going to give my most hated because after reading most of everyones choices, I must not understand the question. Some of them were;
Barkley, KJ, Kidd, VC.
Barkley was MVP and took suns to their best record. KJ solid hard working PG also took Suns to best record. Kidd and VC are hall of famers.
And still the hate? I dont get it.
NYC Suns Fan!!!
Barkley was (and is) a fat loudmouth (I love him, though).
KJ was made of glass and didn’t perform well in the ’93 finals (still love him, too). Kidd beat up his wife. VC dunked on that Frenchman so hard he created a small singularity which sucked up a few million people before it dissipated.
KJ wasn't made of glass
He was just too small to play the way he did. Until the Barkley campaign, he played 70+ games a season. Dude was always running into people, floors, everything and getting hammered along the way.

Nobody even comes close to Horry
Marbury and Shaq played well with the Suns it was just bad trades that brought them to the Suns. Giving up Marion and Kidd for those two were examples of management hitting the panic button. Cassell hardly tried so he would rank in the top 5 for sure. Ever notice how Horry and Cassell’s success was always the result of riding the coat tails of true stars?
I do not hate backup players because they don’t hold the team back and draft busts don’t bother me that much because it is the team’s job to find the right player. As long as they give it their all.
Ainge is a close second for me. He always played like a punk and nothing changed when he was with the Suns. Not guarding Paxson in ’93 was unforgivable. The way he bailed on the Suns as a coach only to resurface as a Celtics GM bothers me too.
I doubt Vince will crack my top 5 with only 1/2 season and then getting bought out.
1. Horry
2. Ainge
3. Cassell
4. Oliver Miller (never took his weight issues seriously)
5. Walter Davis (for being a snitch on his own teammates)
6. Barkley (how he left the Suns and all his sh!t talking since)
Kidd was more the social panic button than the personnel panic button
Interesting commentary on Walter Davis although his snitching did help the rebuild well and quickly since they had to usher out all the coke heads.
Horry and Cassel were even less than half season players for the Suns (35 and 22 games respectively) so don’t write Vince off just because he wasn’t here long.

but Vince doesn’t seem like the type that will throw Suns under the bus. If anything he wants to prove he’s worth another contract to somebody.
Colangelo over reacted to the bad PR for both Davis and Kidd. The Suns could have used James Edwards. I think fans care more about a winning then off court issues when it comes down to it.

Coke was rampant in the NBA in the '80s
So to call the ex-Suns coke heads would be like calling 60% of the league coke heads. The AZ attorney general thought he had something major and he had nothing other then scaring the tears out of Sweet D with threats of prison and ending his career.
Walter Davis doesn’t get any of that credit for rebuilding. That’s all on Jerry C. and Cotton. Pulling the trigger on the Nance trade took some serious balls.

Mike Niles
I hated him mostly because in 1980, John McCloud, in his infinite wisdom, decided that Mike Niles would be better for the franchise than my cousin. Mike made the team and my cousin went to Europe and became a star.
Niles short-lived 44 game stint was wrought with air balls and turnovers, however it was his post-career moves that brought him infamy.
After being cut, he paid a man named Noel “No, No” Jackson $5,000 to kill his wife in order to collect on a $95,000 insurance policy.

No player caused me more frustration than Boris Diaw. He played great one year and after words became lazy and inconsistent. It’s like he was only interested half the time from 06-07- 07-08. It was like, “Boris sucks, lets trade him…wait he just played a pretty good game, lets keep him, wait nevermind he still sucks, wait no…,wait…” It’s that stupid contract they gave him.
To make things worse, when Amar’e came back that reduced his role from a go to guy in the post to a mid-range jumper shooter/slasher and he sucked at both. He couldn’t drive into the paint and although he could shoot he’d pass up the open shot half the time. He’d even do this when open under the basket. Part of his decline wasn’t his fault because him an Amar’e just weren’t a good fit together, but the rest is because he refused to do his role half the time. For a team that only went 7-8 guys deep we really needed him to be consistent and play hard. He didn’t and that is why I’m not convinced we still could have won in 07 if the suspensions didn’t happen. He should have been traded by the deadline of that season.

Georgi Glouchkov

Was supposed to be that big man that the Suns have been looking for for 40 years. If anyone remembers this guy, I’ll buy you a beer.
I mostly hated his hair.

You owe me a beer! I totally remember him.
He was the first major European import to the NBA, right? We sort of take Euro players for granted now, but it didn’t used to be so common.

Whatever I say, Polish Hammer will back."
I know him from the awesome 25th anniversary Suns book
Anyone else have that? My dog ate it in like 2000. Stupid dog.

Glouchkov impressed the Suns with his strong rebounding and became a regular member of the team’s playing rotation; as the year went on, however, Glouchkov began gaining weight, and his productivity decreased. Some Suns’ staff members attributed his weight gain to his taste for American fast food and candy, but rumors also surfaced that he was experimenting with steroids.

Jake Tsakalidis
was the guy who they said would finally be our franchise center.
Now that guy was a disappointment.
Mario Bennett
He is my second all-time worst [to Mike Niles].
I knew him at ASU and that guy was just flat wrong.
Man.
Mario Bennett really was one of the worst.
I went to ASU basketball camp the year he was coming out of the draft (1995) and he strolled in like he owned the place…obviously. When asked by a camper whether he thought he was going to get drafted by the Suns Bennett replied “naw man I’m gonna get picked way before that.”
The Suns had 2 picks…21st and 27th. He went 27th and even that was too high. What a waste. I can’t believe he started 14 games for the Suns.

These personal stories are awesome
My hatred of players pertains mostly to on court issues.
Mario was pretty one dimensional and didn’t seem to have that work ethic it takes to make it in the NBA. Suns scored big time with Finley, but to call Bennet a waste is a stretch. Look at the rest of the draft and not a single player after Bennett did jack squat other then Ostertag.
In fact Mario Bennett did own the place if it was an ASU hoops camp.

steve nash?
For being the greatest point guard in the NBA and still not getting a championship. It is like dating Kim Kardashian for 5 years and not getting laid. I got championship blue balls.
