Steve Nash and Grant Hill to be benched on Back-to-Back-to-Backs
It almost goes without saying that if the Phoenix Suns are playing three days in a row, veterans Nash and Hill would be sitting out the second game at the least. There are only two B2B2B games this season so I don't see that as a huge problem. What's more worrisome is the 18 B2Bs they have to play.
via Coro: "The Suns twice have games on three consecutive nights this season. Gentry said he would consider sitting out Steve Nash and Grant Hill for one of those games, especially because each of those sets are part of five games in seven days with travel."

Why sit them the third game?
When keeping them out of the second games (Denver and Clippers) would avoid two back-to-backs?

yeah I think it’s most likely that he would sit them at least the second game, if not the third as well. We have yet to see how much Price and Telfair can take on to lighten Steve’s workload pre-playoffs, but I can actually see Grant playing in the majority of B2Bs. He’s just crazy like that, and Steve has that chronic back pain.

If you sit them the 2nd game
then the 3rd game you have them on 1 day rest… with the rest of the guys dead tired beat. This makes it likely that you lose both the 2nd and 3rd games.
Play them in the 2nd game, and it’s a back to back. Rest them in the 3rd when you’re unlikely to win anyway.

Well......
What if it was Orlando, Miami, Sacramento?
Hahahaha
That’s LEGEN – wait for it – DARY. One has to figure that makes the most sense.
That, or picking the two weakest opponents of the three.
1. They should sit them the 2nd game.
2. Does Amar’e keep taking shots at Sarver because he really wanted us to rebuild around him, but at the same time just wanted the insurance on his contract, OR is he doing it to justify his decision to leave by making Sarver look like the bad guy? It’s kind of amusing actually.
Don't trade Dudley!
1. noted and corrected
2. it IS weird that he should call out Sarver. He’s going to come “terrorize the town”? What is he, Godzilla? He has an inferiority complex that can’t be solved by being the second best player on a team.

This wasn't the first time
When a journalist asked Amar’e about his thoughts on our struggles this season, he said, “Should have signed that Amar’e kid”.

Amar'e's so weird
I feel like he only says the dumb things he says because he thinks that’s what’s expected of him. Like how he responded to critics questioning his leadership by reading “The Art of War” or his NBATV special that had him quoting “Gladiator”, he always seemed so fake.

With all the other thugs running around, At least he never gave us any off-court problems…Be thankful for what we had..could ahve been a lot worse…

That's very true.

That Amare kid
should definitely be speaking on the struggles of the Suns last season.. Because going 42-40 like the Knicks and getting swept in the first round was a much better outcome.
BAMF goes HAM.
lol this
and he had melo and billups on his team. going 42 and 40 in the east isnt that impressive anyways when you play wizards bucks Cleveland (had like 15 wins)and nets for free wins. theyve got a team with no guards and a frontcourt that plays no D besides there center. they have a coach that plays run and gun with players who dont.
Amares knees will be destroyed this season and the knicks will be forced to play him because of the lack of depth on that roster. amare with get hurt and the knicks will be forced to pay him for 5 more years.
"Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose"
Yeah. Their season wasn’t impressive at all. They should do better with Chandler. But I hope they lose every game, personally.

Do you guys think it would be wise to sign baron?
Davis hasn’t really played for a successful franchise but is 32 years old. He just cleared his amnesty waivers and it’s pretty well known that he has a good relationship with Nash. I feel like at this point, since he is not assuming to hold a starter position at this point in his career, he could be quite the back up for Steve. Just a thought…
Furthermore
I think the clippers’ pg logjam is the perfect situation to pick up a successor to nash. Mo williams and eric bledsoe are both solid points. Eric bledsoe has an immense amount of talent and mo williams is just entering his prime despite his obvious stat inflation from his time playing with lebron. Once again, just a thought…
Ewww
Mo Williams is very average, and Bledsoe is unproven. IMHO, at some point you gotta accept that players are going retire, and while a ready made replacement would be fantastic, the better option is to bound into the unknown with maximum flexibility.
TL;DR waiting and seeing has its merits.
I would be interested in Baron Davis
Think that would be a nice pickup
Voted most likely to say "I told you so"
Yeah I am actually ok with it...
Except for the fact that it would make a glut for us at the PG position which wouldn’t be good. I think its a pretty proven fact that when the Suns have a log-jam at a position the guys that are not starting never play their best ball. At least for the Suns, the competition has seemed to make the player worse than better. Maybe because they are trying to prove themselves on the floor.
So as much as I like Davis, I can’t see him being much better than what we have already – Price and Telfair – and I can actually see him making the situation worse even though he is a better PG than those two. I feel kinda bad for the guy because he was awesome at Golden State and then got hurt in LA and now hes yesterdays news. If we hadn’t picked up Telfair or Price so quickly I would say go for it….

We have enough pgs and we definitely do not need an always injured soft loser like BD. That would be about as bad as Turkeyglue.

That would be awesome
But then I don’t know what we’d do with Telfair and Price
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."
I believe he's going to be out for a while, like 8-10 weeks.
Back issues.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

I see a season loaded with injuries and mediocrity from a lot of players
Gentry is going to take care of this, he is the kinda guy who plays the 15 guys in one night.
Blind enough to believe on Pudgemonster.
Heck even LeBron is going to get tired, i cannot think what is about to happen with Dallas and Boston, those geriatrics centers.
Blind enough to believe on Pudgemonster.
I think it makes sense to sit them on the game we know we can with without them
That seems like the best strategy. games against the bucks, t wolves, wizards and any other squads that are an automatic win should be games where staring price or tel-fair at the 1 and starting chilly or dudz at the 2 make sense. dudz can start at the 3 and brown can come in at the 2 if they both seem to be doing good.
"Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose"
There are no automatic wins in the NBA...
I don’t care who we are playing…see last year…
STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....! BTW, If positivity is a crime, I plead guilty by reason of T-Bird...!
true
but if were talking under the assumption that phoenix is going to be a playoff team these are those games that would be bonfide wins. in 09-10 we would pwn teams like these.
"Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose"
I would consider sitting them against weak teams
Have 2 PGs and Chilly/Warrick at SF.
