Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Amare is on the block!

Well, if they sign Tyson Chandler that is. I just read on ESPN that if they sign Chandler (they say its pretty much a done deal), then they will offer Amare for Chris Paul. My first trade post was a flaming-pile-of-dung failure, which i knew it would be, and I am 89.2% sure the Hornets wouldn't do this, but i feel it would be the best offer available to them up to this point. Also, I would hope it would make my fellow BrightSiders a little more happy. To the jump!

Star-divide

Suns get: AMARE BAYBAAY!

Knicks get: Chris Paul (with a freshly minted extention which would make the numbers gel for this trade).

Hornets get: Vince Carter (aka his expiring contract), Robin Lopez, Renaldo Balkman, the rights to M. Morris, I. Shumpert, 2013 first rounder from NY, 2012 first rounder from Suns.

I think something to that effect could and maybe...just maybe would work to get STAT back in Suns orange. It would go a looooong way to get Nash and BAMF re-signed (hopefully on the cheap), as well as help Sarver regain some face with the fans. Whadduya guys think?

We did not resign STAT to a max contract for the reason we didn’t believe he would be able to last that long medically.

Why would the FO bring him back here now, and why would STAT even want to come back here?

Very true about the medical aspect, but

they could be wrong. Sarver did a LOT of damage since letting Amare walk and he knows it. this could mend a lot of bad bridges between Sarver and the fan base. And Amare didnt leave here angry at the franchise or the city. He just wanted to get paid. now he is paid. Do you think he would rather be in New Orleans with a crap roster, no ownership, basically a near-dead franchise, or at least back here with Nash and an overall improved roster (see Gortat) from the 2010 WCF team. If he gets traded he gets traded, which it looks as if he is going to be. He doesnt have a say in where he goes. This would be the best case senario for him and i think he would know that.

If we could get Jrich for the midlevel

Then we have almost exactly the same roster but you have brown instead of Dragic (probably an upgrade), you have Chilly and Pietrus to cover Jrich (a little downgrade), and Gortat starting for Lopex (huge upgrade).

Fan of the TEAM not a player.

Touche

minimal change:
minus Richardson, Barbosa, Lou, Dragic, Lopez (with this trade)
plus Gortat, Childress, Warrick, Brown, Telfair, Lawal

so ultimately, an improvement at center, downgrade at the 2.

Amare has responded to the trade rumors on his twitter, saying “I am awesome. What was the question?”

borderline adequate

If the Hornets do that deal..

They are even more deluded by alcohol than I am….

STAT may be gone but the Suns will rise....! BTW, If positivity is a crime, I plead guilty by reason of T-Bird...!
