At least we aren't the Trailblazers...
Bummed out by no-name signings (like Sebastian Telfair)?
Cheer up, at least we're not the Portland Trailblazers!
Today in T-Blazer news:
Brandon Roy announced he was going to retire for medical reasons.
LaMarcus Aldridge underwent a procedure on his heart for a chronic condition. He will miss all of training camp.
That... is a rough week, folks.

Ouch!
What do you think, guys, should we lift the curse we placed on BEdge a couple of years ago during the playoffs? Have they suffered enough?

nah this isn't the sort of stuff you talk shit about
The Blazers players have been about as classy as their fans have been the opposite. I don’t wish them bad health.

This is really sad news, those guys are so young and talented
Do not let Steve Nash and Grant Hill go away, please.
Otherwhise im not buying any tickets from you Saver.
blazers fans are the worst
but roy, oden, and aldridge seem like great guys. it sucks that they have to go through this. who would have thought that the blazers would be in this position 3 years ago??? just some bad luck
I think you're forgetting Lakers fans.
Hell, might as well even add in Heat, Knicks, Celtics (good friends with a few of these — love them to death, but don’t be around them when the Celtics are on TV), or any other franchise with a storied and successful past.

They had a potential dynasty lined up too
Just like we did with Nash, Amar’e, JJ and Marion. Then slowly we lost them one by one. At least we still had a chance to compete though. To lose your franchise players in so short an amount of time must be tough.
Don't trade Dudley!
No wonder Paul Allen is getting tired of NBA ownership...

I can't believe someone is still willing to pay Greg Oden
The guy is a worse version of Sam Bowie. At least Bowie played a little and had a semi-decent 10 year career. Oden hasn’t done squat and yet they give him $8.9 M???
Portland deserves everything they get just for that signing [of course, i am not saying the players deserve anything and it isn’t Oden’s fault for someone handing him almost 9 million]…

Oden had a PER of 24 in his 2009-10 campaign
Sure it was only 20 something games, but comparing him to Sam Bowie or Kwame Brown (another favorite comparison for Oden) is unreasonable. Oden has skills, and talent, and is a monster defensively, it’s too bad his body cannot handle playing NBA basketball.
And as for all the other comments in this post about how Blazers fans suck, I’m sorry you feel that way and I don’t know if there’s anything I could do to reverse that perception. I always wish any team well (when not playing the Blazers) except for the Lakers, Heat and Celtics, I have no ill-will towards any of you or the Phoenix Suns. I was rooting for you during the 2010 Western Conference Finals and was literally devastated when Ron Artest made that put-back to beat you in game 5, basically sealing the series.
I think you guys should stop judging an entire fanbase just because of a few trolls that dropped in on some gameday threads 1 and a half years ago… Just sayin…
The smarter you are, the more likely you are to be tripping balls at any given moment.
Bring Back Dre.
where did i say blazer fans suck?
I said the franchise deserves everything they get for THAT signing. Didn’t mention fans, didn’t diss Roy or other players, didn’t say anything. Paul Allen signed Oden and has to pay him and watch him sit there.
BTW, Sam Bowie was far better than Oden in every respect. He played more games and did more in his early career than Oden has done at this point. I like Oden as a person, and it sucks for him that he is injury prone, but he gets paid almost $9 million? You talk about potential like it has manifested itself. Potential is sexy, but in the end, it isn’t anything unless production occurs.
You brought up Kwame Brown, which is not a good comparison. Kwame sucked, but was never injured. Sam Bowie could play and got injured, just like Oden.

On the other hand, Kwame Brown just got paid
$7M to play this season.

Glad to have your comments, gtbassett!
I rarely go to other teams’ blogs, but the only Blazer fans that had hitherto come over here to BSotS are of the knuckle-dragging, club-wielding variety. So I guess I’ve only based my judgment on the trolls who came here a’ teeth-bashing!
We welcome any intelligent discussion here at BrightSide, since we get so little from our own people! just joshing, hubert and Beavis!

Maybe at league minimum
But what is the payoff when you pay a guy over 5 years almost $29 million??? You gonna pay Shaun Livingston $9 million this year too?
