Nets-Raps an update...
An update on my Nets-Raps interactions...
I hate pimping myself but if you would like to follow my goings on first hand and information I don't put in articles, feel free to follow me on Twitter @keiththejourno
I thought it only fair, after all the advice/abuse/threats that you gave me regarding my virginal experience of interviewing NBA players.
I've got some stuff up on the web already about what I've seen and done but I'll put one big post onto BSoTS after it's all over with all relevant links.
I'll leave you with this:
I interviewed Robert Horry today. Only for about 5 minutes because he was...well...I don't know what he was doing instead of talking to me but it involved sitting next to Mount Mutumbo.
At the end of the bog standard interview about 'what do you think about an NBA franchise in the UK?' and 'Are you looking forward to the Olympics?', I then spent the last 2 minutes doing quick fire questions at him. I'd ask him questions which could only be answered yes or no.
I asked him some basic questions just to get him into the swing of it and then I settled into some more telling questions:
Me: Do you think Miami can win the title this year?
Horry: No.
Me: Do you think New York can win the title this year?
Horry: Hell no!
Me: Should Blake have won the slam dunk comp?
Horry: No. There's a man playing on Friday who should have.
Me: Is Lebron the best player in the league?
Horry: No
And then I asked him the question that the whole elaborate game had been set up to get an answer for:
Me: Do you regret hipchecking Steve Nash in the playoffs?
Horry: No.
I ended the interview.
True story.

what about the part where you crack him in the head and arrest him?
"Maybe I’m old school," Nash said, "but I signed a contract to play here and I want to honor it. I feel like I owe it to my teammates and the city and everybody to keep battling until they tell me it’s time to go." STEVE (God of Basketball) NASH
Didn't happen.
As much as it hurts me to say it, he was a very affable man.
I did tell him at the beginning of the interview that I hated him because of what he did to the Suns to which he simply laughed and said ‘A lot of people hate me’.
You can now take a quarter of me out of that group. 3/4’s of me still hates him with a passion.
None of this would have happened if Lou Amundson had still been around.
awesome

I asked Vujabitch about his friend Goran too...

I saw that actually.
I did in fact start to follow you on twitter after reading this.
Good advertising.
I wanted to punch Vujacic in the face. Like he was personally able to get himself to a title… psh.

Again, speaking to these guys makes them very different to the views we hold on a blog.
Except for Vujacic. He’s still a colossal penis.

I would rec this 8 times myself if it would let me
Come on people… this needs to be green.
Suns v Spurs in the 1st round. Make this happen.
Thank you for your kind words.
I must admit, I did chuckle to myself whilst writing it.

Justin Bieber should have won the slam dunk contest?

Seriously?
Greg Popovich might be my favorite non-Suns NBA personality. Pretty much everything that comes out of his mouth is gold.

At 2:14 Nash is thanking him.

When they turn the camera off, Nash actually beats the crap out of Horry with the microphone. That’s why he can only say “yes” and “no” because he’s 75% brain dead.

I believe it
After the hip check, Nash says he had been working on his dukes and was ready to lay an ass whooping. Well not exactly, but along those lines.
I am surprised they let him bring his guns in the arena. Its really just a 50 game suspension waiting to happen.
I am looking at you Stern!
