Suns @ Kings Game Preview 7PM AZ Time

51a404af5f6fadca533d8375a270e589-getty-103884554cp030_dallas_maver_mediumThings aren't all that grand in Planet Orange these days and why would they be? The Suns aren't making the playoffs, they can't close out a game, their franchise player may leave in the off-season, Marcin Gortat hurt his nose, Robin Lopez hasn't gotten any better, VC sucks, Warrick still sucks and really this season as a whole has just been one big disappointment.

The FO failed to replace Amar'e Stoudemire and keep the best bench in the league together. Because of that we are now seeing the load that has been put on Steve Nash to carry a team without another star, finally take a toll on him.

Phoenix Suns Resigned To End Of Playoff Hopes, Lose To Mavericks 91-83 - SB Nation Arizona

"It feels like it's over, just because we haven't played as well or won games so it's disappointing, but it's been disappointing all season," Steve Nash said after the game.

"We're a team that's had so much change this year that I don't think we know where we are yet. We're still trying to learn who we are with all the new pieces. We have five guys left from last year. It's been hard to really get on a roll or momentum without commonality."

Now there's speculation that Steve Nash may ask for a trade this coming off-season and it doesn't seem so far fetched anymore, does it?

Morse Silly Steve Nash Trade Speculation and Junk

To think that just 5 months ago all the Nash trade talk and rumors were once perceived as "silly" and now the ideal of Nash leaving might actually be a reality is kind of a heart quencher and something that some of us may be unwilling to believe or accept until it actually happens.

Lets go back to October 24th of last year.

Steve Nash Frustrated As Phoenix Suns Enter Season With Much Uncertainty

"To be honest, if I was outside this picture and a betting man, I would probably pick us to be outside of the playoffs considering all the changes and the new guys," team leader Steve Nash said after Sunday's team practice.

"We've got a ways to go on everything, but having said that, I expect us to go out and give ourselves a chance to win every night. If we play hard and we play smart and play together, there's no reason why we can't scrap our way to some wins and to giving ourself a chance to win almost every night."

He called it. The Suns have shown this season that they can compete with anyone and they have gone out and given themselves a chance to win every night. I don't expect them to stop either, even though their hopes for the playoffs are dead.

To add some more salt to your wounds; the off-season signings so far have been a failure and the Dec. trade that sent J-Rich and Hedo to the Magic for Gortat and VC pretty much killed the season. Gortat has been great, but he came at the expense of Barbosa, Hedo and J-Rich.

Vince Carter on the other hand has officially gained the title of, "Most Hated Sun of All Time". Yea, you got that right, he's replaced Boris Diaw as the new MHSOAT. Never before have I ever seen or heard of a player that fans wanted to light on fire. I'm sure Vince Carter is a good person who would be fun to hang around and watch some games with, but play a game with? Not so much. His opponent friendly attitude, mercenary status and inability to show up more than once every five games just doesn't mesh with the chemistry and the style of the Phoenix Suns. In his short stay here he has managed to single handily lose a game, cramp our style, anger an entire fan-base while poisoning their water supply, burning their crops and delivering a plague onto their houses...all in just 42 games of work. Alright so, maybe he didn't do those last three things, but are we going to wait around until he does?

Yup, Nash is right when he says it's been a disappointing season. The worst part about it though is that we can't even say, "Well, there's always next season." because there probably won't be a next season:(

Cherish these finals10 games as they could be the last of Steve Nash and of the Suns for a long, long time.

Well, at least were not moving to Anaheim.

Game Preview

Despite all our problems the Kings fans in Sactown have it worse. They're losing their team...to Anaheim. That really, really sucks. Remember when they almost won a title in 02? They used to be very similar to the mid-2000 Suns with their offensive glory and all not to mention they also caught an unlucky break in 2002, just like us. That Lakers/Kings series will forever remain the most controversial series in NBA History. Their reign as a contender lasted from 2000-01 to 2003-04.

Now they suck. The Sacramento Kings hold a (20-52) record and are the worst team in the Pacific Division, however they have beaten the Suns in 2 of their last 3 meetings.

Funny, how their lone loss came to a Suns team with Hedo Turkoglu as the starting PF and Robin Lopez as the starting C. Yet, Phoenix still managed to grab 42 rebounds compared to the Kings 50. Hey, that's better than what they got in the following two matches. They couldn't even grab 40 with Gortat as the center and Frye as the PF. The Suns will need to tighten up in the paint tonight and crash those boards.

That won't be so simple though as the Kings have a big front-court with Samuel Dalembert, Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins. Beno, Thornton, Casspi and Garcia are all guys capable of lighting up the Suns. Despite all these young, talented players as a team they suck, however they've actually played pretty well as of late winning 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5 games on their road trip. They haven't done that since the 2005-06 season.

With that said, the Kings are actually hotter than the Sun(s), so a win tonight won't be easy:P
