How Good Would Phoenix Be With Amare?

1

With two defensive-minded seven-footers in Robin Lopez and Gortat, one of the premier shot-creators in the game in Steve Nash, two guards who can get buckets (Aaron Brooks and Vince Carter) and a host of excellent defensive-minded role players on the wings (Jared Dudley, Grant Hill, Josh Childress and Pietrus), the Suns are now only one piece away from being a serious threat: a front-court scorer who can get his own shot and space the court for Nash. If the Suns had more than $100 million to spend last summer but didn’t want to give it to Amare, constructing a giant fortress of dollar bills and lighting it on fire like the Joker in the Dark Knight would have been a better use of the money than committing it to the foursome of Frye, Warrick, Childress and Turkoglu.
