Most of you may know him as a bench player on the Grizzlies, backing up Marc Gasol and maybe getting a few measly minutes a game. The fact is, the Suns have a glaring hole in their roster, a legit 7 foot true center to both back up The Great Gortat and provide more much needed youth. (yes we have Lopez for now, but seriously?) If Gortat becomes injured, I doubt any of us would want Robin Lopez and Frye being our "big men".
This guy is 7'2", 265, athletic, and out to prove himself in the NBA. No doubt he is dissatisfied with barely playing for 3 years. Here are some awesome tidbits. AWE YEAH
- He's the first Iranian player to make the NBA and will bring fine publicity to the Suns if signed, similar to the support Omri Casspi received as the first Israeli player
- He was the MVP of the FIBA Asian Championships in both 2007 and 2009 (led Iran to the Gold Medal both years)
- Led all players in rebounding and blocks during Olympic play in 08'
- Was the only player in the 08' Beijing Olympics to average a double double (yes he played on the Iranian team, but this was against good competition) 16.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks
The guy is only 26 years old and is a proven international player, yes, this does not mean he will do the same in the NBA, however, he has yet to be given a chance. The same cannot be said for Robin Lopez. Another skill is his ability to hit the mid range jumper and provide much needed energy off the bench. Even in his limited minutes, he's been known to play admirably - check out these videos below

At the moment, he is a restricted free agent, he receives a qualifying offer of $2 million for the 2011-12 season if he does not leave. Although Marc Gasol is a free agent, I highly doubt he will leave Memphis.
And seriously, I have a wonderful feeling that he and Gortat are going to become SUPER BEST FRIENDS
Who's your Haddadi?
