Now really, the point for this post is to share my thoughts on the lockout. So, here we go.

Whatever happens, even if a deal is reached, the lockout will give the fans something to hate about the NBA. There will be "greed" written all over the faces of the players and owners. And I wouldn't blame the fans if they think that the players and owners are greedy. I'm not an expert on the nitty gritty of the lockout but here is somewhat my philosophical or reflective take on the situation.

Basketball was created by a man named Dr. James Naismith. He created the sport for his students to engage in a new and fun way of play. And yeah, shooting a ball through a hoop is fun. Today, basketball has been regarded as a worldwide sport. And why do we love playing basketball? We love it because we're having fun, not earning millions, not gaining popularity, not gaining sponsorships or self named merchandise. But still we're having fun. In the same way, Naismith didn't create basketball so that a league would be formed for the sport. He didn't create basketball to make it a worldwide sensation, or an effective way to generate revenue. He created it for people to have fun in a new and exciting way.

However, I also don't blame the players for their stand against the proposed new CBA rules by the owners. They have the right to voice out. It's their livelihood. But really, the players need to learn how to save. I mean it's not like their customary standard of living will go downhill because of a few bucks stashed from their salaries.

Also, I'm a bit for the owners on this one. If their end in mind is to bridge the gap between small market and big market teams, then I'm all for the idea. It will make the legue more competitive. I just wish that with the new CBA rules, (Hopefully, they'll work it out.) Rob Sarver would spend just a teeny weeny little bit more on the team to get competitive again.

As I read from some of the comments on different posts about the lockout, it seems that the worst hit are the league's employees and staff. For instance, how the heck will Robin Lopez get back to his decent and productive form if his nagging back can't be healed by Aaron Nelson?

I feel bad for the players, not because they won't earn but because they won't play as of the moment in the best brand of basketball there is. They're really lucky because they get to have fun while earning. To end this, I would like to greet the Suns a happy lockout. Silo, have fun in your camp and teach the kids the importance of work ethic. For the rest, have fun in your endeavors and play basketball if you feel like to, because it's fun.
