Fresh from nbaplaybook.com comes a fantastic scouting report on the Suns' most recent pick. What I found interesting here is that where typically the Suns typically have to be able to play pick and roll offense this seemed to be one of the weak areas for Morris, also defensively.
Also, he appears to be a good post player on both ends with a low foul rate, which is unusual for a Suns pick yet again.
From what I gather, it appears that his weaknesses mentioned in the report seem to indicate that with a little more effort Markieff could eliminate this weaknesses as he is a smart player and knows how to play good defense on the most part. He also averaged 8.3 rebounds in 24 mpg so we know he can hit the boards.
Anyway, take a look and judge for yourselves:
While this pick was puzzling for some, I think this might turn out to be a good pick for the Suns. If all he has to do is adjust how he plays and defends the pick and roll and can already shoot all the way out to the three point line and play the post, I think we have a role player for the future at the least.
