Sources Should Say: Steve Nash Trades That Make Sense
How much longer can this charade seriously last? The Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash have turned into basketball’s most depressing marriage. They have been together for far too long, they sleep in separate bedrooms, the kids (Amar’e) have left the nest- why are they still together? Well, because neither wants to be the one to end it. It’s a game of relationship chicken and those games never end well.

I'm not even going to address your analogy here, but I will say something about the trades you suggested.
The ORL is absolutely putrid. Just horrible. You’re sending away our two best players for nothing. Nelson has regressed since his All-Star year and I certainly don’t want him as my PG. I don’t understand how Orton’s ceiling is “astronomically high” as you put it. And Redick is meh.
The POR trade is somewhat reasonable, but you’;re not going to get any support of that here. We hate Portland around these parts.
The HOU-LAL is worse than the POR. While I would love to have Kyle Lowry, there is no possible way for any trade that sends Steve Nash to the Lakers to be met with positive feedback. PHX doesn’t have any need for a stiff and whatever Jordan Hill is at this point.
The BOS trade makes some sense as it follows PHX’s trend of sending away draft picks only to reacquire them later in their careers (Nash, Gortat), but I highly doubt BOS does it. Nor would I be 100% happy with Rondo.
You dared me to shoot down your final trade, and I shall do it by laughing uncontrollably for about 5 minutes before formulating a response………………..OK, I’m back. This is hilarious. That is a tremendous trade for CLE and MEM, and one of the worst I’ve seen for PHX. First of all, Channing Frye’s contract is not “awful” as you put it. He is a valuable contributor to the team, making inly about $6 mil per year. Second, I want no part of Mike Conley. I’d rather just wait and get a new PG in the draft or FA. Also, Steve Nash himself is an expiring contract, so there’s no reason to flip him for Jamison. PHX gets absolutely nothing out of that trade. They’d be better served letting Steve walk after this year and going to work in FA with the cap space (enough for 2 max players).
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

Astonishingly bad...
HOU is going to trade Kyle Lowry? Who is having a MONSTER BREAKOUT year for the luxury of flipping Luis Scola for Pau Gasol? And Kevin Martin and Josh Childress on the same roster? Lottery busts still oozing with potential? What? Otherwise, OS, you pretty much said it.
…still chuckling about Nash and Gortat for cap ballast and Daniel Orton…what’s with all the finagling for draft busts? The Nets gave the Wizards $3 million just to get Yi off their roster, so the Wiz could keep things cash neutral…why would they be viewed as sweetener?
