can’t believe I just said that

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

Trying to be a bit objective here, and park the anger at watching a team that is so weak...

Overall, this looks like an ok team that kind of hit a perfect storm of injuries combined with frickin ice cold shooting to end up with a few losses they shouldn’t have. and as I kind of feared the poor play has now snow balled into a situation of zero confidence and poor intensity…hard to watch.

Bulls are going to exceed their season average of scoring by around 25-3 points, without Rose.

I'm disgusted right now...

I mean I never thought we were going to be awesome this season but this bad? I mean just wow.

What’s sad is that Steve Nash hasn’t lost a step….He’s still the best play making point guard in the biz and his jump shot has just been automatic since about the start of January.

Too bad Gortat is the only other Suns player who got the memo that the season has already started.

Well….There is always my New York Giants being in the NFC Championship game to cheer me up at least.

Yikes

I checked into to see whether this game was worth watching, but holy cow. We can’t even compete with a Roseless Bulls team.

No offence to some of our role players, but I think it’s safe to say that the all the Phoenix Suns really are is Nash and Gortat. That’s just not enough. Both those guys are borderline all-stars. They need a lot more help than Dudley, Frye and Morris.

Don't trade Dudley!

by Beavis 25 on Jan 17, 2012 8:01 PM MST reply actions

And the only possible way this team will ever win

Is if we get Howard and Williams. Which 95% probably won’t happen.

So to make a short story shorter, we got screwed by the FO big time post-Amare.

lol, totally dude

But I don’t know if they were in the driver seat. The Knicks liked the Warrior deal better and Sarver wasn’t going to give Amar’e a contract anyway. It’s not like he could have said, “Give us Lee or I take back Amar’e.”

Yeah, I know...Azubuike never played a game, Randolph was traded for the Wolves for like nothing if I remember correctly and Turiaf hardly ever played...

Still…It’s just the one thing we’re missing on this team right now. A guy who can put up 20-10 nightly. Nash and Gortat have basically been the entire offense the past two weeks.

Randolph got traded for a 1st round pick which they used to get Melo

Yes, I still wanted Lee. I was disappointed when Sarver wouldn’t “overpay” to get him. It’s in the past though.

I give this team one more week and then a trade needs to happen. Not a big one, but a small one. I think Mayo is worth a shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gentry doesn’t finish the season either.

Frye has been the biggest bummer

Morris for the most part has been a good surprise, but nothing to brag about.

Frye looks like he hasn't realized the season started a few weeks ago...

Hopefully he wakes up before February…

he seems to have regressed in the post

and can’t consistantly hit 3’s.
also he is terribly slow defensively.

so yup, he is pretty much useless right now

I tell ya

They were fine up until the last 5 minutes of that Laker game. I think they realized that no matter how hard they would try, they weren’t going to be a good team. Even if that’s true, they can’t give up. Just keep trying and the rest falls on the FO.

We had a guy like that named Aaron Brooks...

But his dumb ass went to China a week before they ended the lockout

haha

the series of events that have led to this is so sad its funny

by miketheboss on Jan 17, 2012 8:17 PM MST up reply actions

Not our savior but at least the guy can create his own shot and actually get to the hole for an easy lay up.

I don’t think Ronnie Price is a bad player at all but he’s just not what you want in a back up PG.

This season demonstrates how valuable Barbosa was to us when he was healthy. The ability to change the tempo of the game and score in bunches is whats lacking from our guard play.

he is exactly what you look for in your backup PG

just not what we look for.
regular PG’s don’t roam around the court freelancing, they call out plays and execute them.
annd it’s pretty hard when 3 of 4 terammates seem lost on every offensive possession…
he tries to find the best option but what can he do?
most of the time he is bundled on the court with Brown/Hak/Morris and Lopez

none of the 5 has a reliable outside shot from more than 18 feet. when you throw the ball into the post the defense collapses and we end up with an open 3 – and we miss most of those.

so he tries 2 man game inside – turns out both Lopez and Morris are daft on the PnR. We end up with Morris shooting 3’s or fade away’s.

Price is a pretty good PG – it’s just that we cannot look for Nashian plays from him.

So how did the Suns look tonight?

Anything positive to take from the game?

It was only called the mildly irritated house on McDowell until I showed up.

that may or may not be a positive...

Well the Suns nearly got the lead down to 20 at end of the game…

You didn't watch the game? I was looking forward to your segments...

deep thoughts with Jim Coughenour. But yeah, this team flat out stunk. The only positives were Nash and Gortat.

Most of my deep thoughts could reside in shallow puddles.

I lack profundity, and apparently the Suns do too, even though the bench was supposed to be needed to be a factor this year.

I still like em. I feel smarter everytime i read your rants.

Such meaty vocabulary. Anyways Horus sucked. Frye sucked. That dude that look like Chris Brown sucked.

The bench held it's own

it was the starters that allowed the Bulls to go on the extreme runs 9-0, 12-0 to name two of them

our FG and FT percentages were nice, we blocked more shots than the Bulls, and our defense did an awesome job on D.Rose, he went scoreless.

by troglodytes on Jan 17, 2012 8:23 PM MST up reply actions

Well, Nash is still a top 5 point guard

But we knew that.

Nothing else positive.
